  1. I change to a smaller needle if tension is too difficult to adjust
  2. Thanks. eBay has many sellers of buckles and springbars. They are all in Asia.
  3. Getting used to my new roller foot sewing machine. Roller foot is the best way to make these.
  4. I will do some close ups later.. the roller is a mm away from the needle. it has feed dogs that are smooth and it is needle fed you can get very close to the edge within a mm or so which is why I got it. Ron may be able to answer better also.
  5. getting used to it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rrp9gbs66eg
  6. Just got my second machine..it is a Techsew 5580 Roller foot(new model for them)..mostly to get VERY close to the edge on watch straps and some other things. Doing well with it so far but wonder if anyone else uses one regularly and has any top tips or pearls of wisdom of things to look out for or other applications that it works well for. It seems that foot pressure is quite important and if it is not set correctly the material may not feed correctly and stitch length may become variable.. appreciate any input. thank you Greg
  7. back stitch and use thread Zap 2 ( google it to find them) to seal the edges with controlled heat. it is cheap and its fun to do. it works with a battery
  8. call Ron at Techsew...he can help you get started just go to Techsew.com
  9. Just venting here and maybe helping some newbies.. I have had a techsew 2750pro and love it for 2 years now any time I do a new set up usually with thinner leather 4-6oz and a thin liner for watch straps or even doing wallets it seems that if I just can't get the knot to settle in the middle with all the adjustments top and bottom I change to a (usually for me) smaller needle i.e. 69 thread top and bottom 18 titanium needle changing to a 16 and voila! problem solved. I don't know if anyone else finds this the most common problem or maybe it has just been me being stubborn to change a needle when 18 should work!!!! any comments welcome of course thanks Greg
  10. PS.to move my knife blade I have to lift the whole machine up and loosen a screw underneath move the blade and then tighten the screw again and put the machine down.. different machines are set up to move the blade in different ways
  11. I have a techsew skiver and the instructions say to sharpen the blade for a few seconds at a time only..this video that you posted the link to says up to five minutes.. I am not having any problems once I got it tuned in to what I need to do...but how long should you run the sharpener on most machines?? thanks
  12. that is awesome...wish my shop looked that neat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. The hole placement changes dependent on the length of strap I make. So unless you are making only 1 length of strap you have to customize the hole placement.
  14. holes punched with a rotary hole puncher..measured out and centered first and marked with an aw usually the holes are 6-7mm apart from the center of the hole.. the holes for me are 2mm diameter
  15. 4 ton..the little wonder
  16. I was not the one that asked this before..I tried to look for anything like this question before and did not find anything..thank you for your response.
