Thanks! I passed on the info and she was appreciative.

Mom got a new saddle (for those who remember, the first one didn't work out), and is looking for a product to apply to it to soften it up a bit. All over, top and undersides. She knows about Lexol, neatsfoot and Aussie Wax, but wasn't sure what to tell her to use. Suggestions? She's also working on turning the stirrup leathers (this is a Western saddle, I should add). Good ways to do this? She's got a rod through them as it sits on a stand.

Leatheroo helped me make some like the center pics.

Had my first dealings with the Tandy in Charlotte, North Carolina yesterday. Nick helped me out. Friendly service and my order was on my doorstep the next day! Thanks, I'll be calling again!

Reminds me of when we were in an apt: the laundry room was below our unit, and a neighbor came up from there all concerned when he heard me pounding. He thought I was in trouble! Anyhow, you're doing what I was not at the time, which is using granite/marble with poundo board (rubber) under it. I've found that helped me. I don't really have any other suggestions - hoping someone else does.

SCARY! Thank God you got your stuff.

Ray, you have my sympathy and complete understanding. In one of our houses, I was reduced to staining on top of the washer/dryer, and it got REALLY colorful. I have a great set up now, with a bench at standing height that I use for staining (it's separate from my usual workbench). Still, it is mostly covered in stain/dye. I consider it character! Anyhow, it can lead to experience like yours: mess on clean projects. So what I usually do is use old clothes/rags to lay down under the piece. Then again, most of what I do is smaller pieces.

That's a kind offer, thanks! I'm going to say no for now; but will keep an ear to the situation and if the neighbor keeps it up, might look into something.

Need used Tandy imprinting machine and Standard Rivet #2

Notice the price of the machine, though! Stores such as Mailboxes Etc run a service where they will pack the item, then have it picked up for shipping via whatever service you choose (FedEx, UPS or DHL) . They are NOT affiliated with the Postal Service. -
I totally agree with your assessment!

I'm going to be going out of town for the weekend, but will look into it again Monday. The main issue with the post office is I'd have to pack it all myself, and I don't have the supplies for that. Most of the places here like Mailboxes Etc will do it all for you at a reasonable rate. -
I thought about calling up a local teen I met at our farmers' market who wanted to get into buckskinning and telling him about it.

Bad news: I was at a shipping outlet this a.m. and whether it goes via UPS, FedEx or DHL, it will cost between USD250-300.00 to ship I'm thinking in such a case it'd obviously be better to just buy it new. Tandy must have either an agreement with the shippers, or they're shipping it within Europe/Asia. I'm sorry. -
I just had two deliveries of leather and other things from them - got helped by Melanie, Jeff and Talina. They've all been excellent.

My mom mentioned to me tonight that their neighbors (a very rural area) are dumping deer carcasses by the property line. I almost cried at the thought of the wasted hides. All right, I can understand enjoying venison, but why toss a perfectly good hide???? Can anything be done? If so, what?

Got word through a friend up there that Jeff (the manager) and Talina (his assistant) are out and Chris (Kris?) from the Harrisburg Leather Factory is in temporarily. I found this very distressing as I've always received great service there, and their new employee Melanie was fantastic. Anyone heard anything?

Need used Tandy imprinting machine and Standard Rivet #2

Thanks :-) He was a kind man and very generous to me. I put all the hardware together in one box, and will take it and the machine to a shipping store either later today or early tomorrow for weighing and an estimate on shipping. -

Here are some pictures. I got this machine and the hardware with it from a friend of mine, Ben Hughes. He had reconditioned it, but his health was failing and he couldn't make use of it. I kept it for a while, and he has since passed away. I, however, have not really had a use for it. Initially, I screwed it to a small workbench and tried it a few times, but it's just not something I need. I'd rather part with it for a low price + shipping and know someone is making use of it! So if you're still interested, it comes with these attachments, and instruction sheets as well (and some dust!) -

Thank YOU for the interest. I had it listed in a post here in the Marketplace, but I can't seem to find it (with pics and everything). I'd like to get 100.00 for the machine and attachments; not sure what shipping will be. -

I do take PayPal. On Monday, I'll take it over to a shipping outlet and see what they say, and what the cost will be. Will let you know. Meanwhile, I'll take some pics for you of the machine and the attachments I have for it.
