Hi to everyone! I have decide to purchase a flat bed in addition to my Consew 227r cylinder. I feel the Juki 1508 would be more machine than what I need as far as working with "heavy" leather. I make bags, some leather purses (3-5oz.). Other than the specs seeming to be the same, does anyone know of a difference between the Juki 1541S or the Thor 1541S? It seems that parts, etc. would all be available for the Thor, and it's a little bit cheaper. Any advice is much appreciated. )

Just recently I purchased feet on line from a couple of different sellers, where they stated their feet would fit my machine. Their feet would fit, but, they wouldn't feed the material through properly. I even contacted Nick from Nick-O sewing, (where I purchased my machine) and he too encountered the same problem I was having., the material wouldn't feed through the correct way. He did did help me with a set of feet he the had "on hand", which I was thrilled to have. He went above and beyond to help! It would just nice to know if we had other feet options as well. Thx so much! )

Techsew 5100 seems to offer a nice package as well. Any comments on service and support if one were to choose between Techsew 5100 vs. CB4500, or just ones preference? I've been reading a lot of the views here on the LW and just want to make sure the Techsew is as good as the CB. You know, it its a lot of money. It seems CB might be the way to go. I'm in the St. Louis area. Purchased my Consew from Nick o sewing. Again, I THANK all of you for your input, and I won't bother you any further with my questions. Love your input Wizcrafts! Thx )

I'm SO happy you saw that particular video, because, the issue of going over those double thicknesses is exactly the same issue I continue to come across when making my leather purses, and other projects. I would Love to have a machine that sews flawlessly over those areas. I'll look at both of the models you've mentioned. I really like what my Consew does, But, sometimes I just wish it would go through some "thicker" layers. I appreciate your help and honesty. Hello to everyone! Once again, Arthur Porter on You tube talks about his purchasing the Thor Industrial machine. I enjoy his videos. Does anyone know who manufactures the Thor, and are there equivalents. Just investigating it for now. I've stated that I have a consew 227r. I believe the Thor might take on heavier/thicker leather and seams?? Thanks to all of you for your advice.

Hello to everyone! I wanted to Thank those of you that recommended the "speed reducer" for my Consew 227! Love having that slower speed for control. Nick at Nick o Sew took great care of me! Love their service! After explaining to Nick that I'm using mostly leather now a days to make handbags, etc., I explained to him how my 227 has trouble going through those multiple layers, resluting in broken needles, etc., he recommended the nks 441. Anyone know anything about that machine, or a clone? I'm just investigating for now! Thank You all for any input! All the Best! )

Hello Cantab91! I have a Consew 227r to make leather bags (3_4oz.) It go's thru 3 layers, no problem, but, as you say, when I get in to thicker areas, I feel like I need a different macine to do those areas. I use leather needles, I will go slow thru those areas, helping the machine along, or I've tried to go faster to give it the power to penetrate those areas, but end up with jamming and or busted needles! Would you mind sharing what you ended up doing. Thank You so Much!

I believe you're right!! The servo I have works fine, but, I would like to reduce the speed on my servo a little more. I can't Thank You enough for your help! I might go ahead and order this pulley. If I can change the wax ring on a toilet, I can put this on! LOL Thank You for the link! ) I hope you have a wonderful weekend! )
