Wow! Thanks Timbo, thats really nice of you to say. You're right, Sometimes less is more. And I'm very guilty of less, mainly because i'm not very good at carving...YET. I've been working at it alot lately. Practicing on scrap. I'll get there one of these days. Problem is I dont have alot of scrap Veg tanned around. so I work on what ever I can come up with. Anyway, Thanks alot for the encouragement! Leon -
I'm not an expert but, it looks great to me. I really want to make one some day. Thats actually the reason I got into leather. So to speak! LOL Very nice 8th!

Thank you Tina and Johanna. Your encouragement means alot to me. I've done alot harder and fancier work, but I guess not everyone wants "Fancy" all the time. Selling it so quickly proves that! I am fairly new at this and have alot to learn. I'll keep making things and posting them and hopefully get some constructive criticism about my work. I do value everyones opinion, thats what its all about, isnt it? Thanks everyone! -

David, Very nice as always. I'm interested in your lacing stitch. I'm not sure which one you did there. Can you tell me how you did it? Thanks, Locknut

HOKIE SMOKES! Very cool! Wish I had half the talent you guys have.Maybe someday. Welcome aboard!

Here's another. Its not as rustic as I would like. But I've had a couple offers on it. Of course they want to steal it instead of buy it. I really dont know how to price my stuff. Is there a "Rule of Thumb" for pricing? Any help would be great! This is Buffalo. Thanks for looking!

Thanks guys, You're right fish, only stuck myself bout 3 times, OUCH!! Do you guys think sleaze-bay would be the place to sell my stuff. I dont really have any potential customers. I'de like to find somewhere to maybe sell on consignment. But, I dont really know where to start. Any help would really be appreciated. Ive got a couple more bags to post. I'll get them up soon. Thanks again for the kind words.

Ok, here is the back.

Here's another one. Havent figured out how to make the pic smaller, so I'll try to add the back another way. I made this out of moose and there is a sheath and knife on the back. That moose is soft and pliable, but I had a heck of a time getting a glovers needle through it.Thanks for looking!

Here is one I just finished. I've only been doing this about a year, since becoming disabled, so I really value your opinions. The Spanish Edge is about the only braid I know so, you'll see it alot on my stuff. I need to learn a braid for attaching the edges of leather appliques to denim. Any ideas? Anyway, how can I improve? Thanks for looking!

Cigar Cases
Locknut replied to ArtS's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Hey Art, I just saw your cases. Very nice. Your lids look like they fit better than mine. but mine stay put I guess. Do you make quite a few of them? Really good for just throwing them together! Thanks for your great comment, by the way. Leon -

Very cool! I'm fairly new at this but, like Rdb said, burnishing the edges looks good. I use Trag Gum. And Feibings makes a finish called Leather Sheen that really makes the surface look nice. Hope I could help! -
Cigar Pouches
Locknut replied to Locknut's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Thanks for all the nice comments. Tom, I just looked at your stuff and I'm really impressed, very cool! If you want one of these pouches, maybe we can do some trading? Busted, your right. A freind of mine is the local Harley dealer, and Opus x is all he smokes! He can afford it though. LOL $29.00 a stick! Howard, all I've ever seen, the lids have been not attached, so thats how I designed them. They have a nice snug fit though. I have some other stuff I'de like you guys to look at, if you would. I really value your opinion. I've only been doing this about a year. I'll get them on as soon as I can. Bags and such. Thanks again for the great comments, Leon -
OK, finally got pics reduced! These are 3 of the cigar pouches I came up with. I tried to make the one look like old oak, and the badges on the others like wood also. I lined the inside with gold silk that looks OK I guess. Spanish cedar is what would be better for the cigars, but I havent come up with any that thin yet. Anyone have any suggestions how to improve anything? Thanks for looking!

I'll do that Blake. Jordan, I've done just that to get started. I have to figure out how to make the tube tops solid in the leather lid so it will seal fairly easily. Blake, forgive my ignorance, lcsj,Leather Crafters and Saddlers Journal? I think I have a few back issues of those a freind of mine sent me. Thanks alot, guys!

Hey all! I'm looking for a 2 or 3 cigar pouch pattern. I'de like to make it air tight if possible but, that's not critical. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Hello all, Been lurking for awhile and trying to soak up all I can from you pro's. You have helped me alot allready! I've made a few things before Dave Anderson turned me on to this place. I just cant get over how helpful you all are, and I really appreciate it! I would like to get into braiding and carving better. Igot a couple of books, one by Bruce Grant and also one by David Morgan. They have helped but Im having trouble with the edge braids. Well here's some of my first tries. Any critique would be very helpful. Thanks to all!
