Adding to what's already been asked and stated, kydex would work nice but this can be done with leather but it's a real project first off I need to know what kind of holster and how it will be worn and then I can get in to design this should be very interesting to see what ideas are thrown out here. jbird replied to jbird's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Thanks Kate I looked it over good and showed it to the buyers and came up with a few changes. The design on the back has a reason and that is it pivots there making it a breeze to open but it's a week point as well, any way changes are in works. Josh -

Thanks Dave and Max I agree with you on the flap for sure make that a one piece unit, if you look at the flap you will see that it's really not a snap closer it's a rare earth magnet that's just a concho not visable from the inside. Josh -

Howdy I make knives and sheathes among other things my advice to you is as follows, 1. Don't make any thing that holds a weapon before you know what's what. 2. My thoughts are that a good sheath is one that is safe. 3. So wild rose trading I think is Chuck burrows website look that up he has some great tips on there you can print out. Sheath making guide 4. You can use a hole bunch of different leathers for sheathes but for starters vegy tan 9/10 oz will be top notch. 5. There a couple books that are cheap that give good idea of sheathes I will post those later. 6. Also what kind of knife makes a huge difference is it folding or a fixed blade. 7.this Is a start I will add on later. Josh
