  1. If I were to in the wallet for a market......... oh man I'm tired... or buzzed... or both.... anyways if I was in the MARKET for a WALLET I would prefer to have the hole in the center to reach my cards. I like the risk you took and it looks good, but just my personal preference is to have the cards stay nicely snugged in the center. It looks to me like if I was trying to get this out of my pocket I would be knocking the card partway out. Just one person's personal preference. Nice job!
  2. Awesome! Is that a quiver for small crossbow bolts or does it hold full size arrows?
  3. Not bad, it looks like it is already worn in!
  4. Haha thanks! I couldn't fit the cigar in the mask!
  5. Thank you! I really liked the whole process and I think I'm hooked too!
  6. Thanks. I like the snap a little better because then I don't have to worry about making a loop to hold the excess leather. I also like the look of snaps better
  7. I bought a watch from a megaboxcheapy store and the band was faux leather. It fell apart rather quickly and so instead of buying a new watch band I realized I could make one similar to the original but better. Here is the fruit of my labor. It is goat skin and brass rings. I opted for snaps instead of the usual watch/belt buckle thingy because I was making it for my wrist and I knew how big my wrist is. The worst part I had to go back to the store and buy another watch because as I was working on it the darn thing slipped through my fingers and proceeded to land face first. Luckily I just had to pull the pins on the old one and pop the new one in. Please let me know of anything I could do better
  8. Hey everybody. Here is one of my recent projects that I did for Dia De Los Muertos. I really liked the way it turned out. I am open to critiques please! I posted it in critique my work but I didn't get any input as of yet.
  9. Nicely done!
  10. Ok now I understand, thank you! The nice thing might be though that I can just keep carving out a piece of wood and it is a LOT cheaper than a metal stamp. Good for a newbie Thank you!
  11. So I think I am a little confused.... So when you say the wood stamp would not last as long do you mean the stamp itself or the mark that it makes in the leather would not last as long?
  12. Would a polly cutting board be a decent backer board?
  13. I don't have a press except my own two burly arms and beer gut. Why would the wood not last if I hit it? I'm just curious the difference between the wood and metal. Of course metal is harder, but why would the wood not last as long? What is the science behind it? Inquiring minds need to know! Thanks for the responses!
  14. Has anyone ever tried to make a stamp tool out of wood? If so was it successful? I would love to have a makers mark but it will be an extremely long time before I can make one. Any thoughts?
  15. I would also like access as well. Cheers!
  16. I haven't sat up thinking about it at night but I have stayed up way too late trying to work through the problem. I've found the best thing for me to do is to make it out of paper/cardboard first as a real life mock up to help me spot some issues I might encounter. However paper is not as thick as leather so there are times when my measurements haven't been as exact as I would like.
  17. Hello again everyone! I am a new old member to the forum. My old account was under ChiefFilipino117 but I forgot my password and the reset option wasn't working for me. So I've been absent for quite some time. I am a newbie and love leathercrafting! I have so many ideas that are in my head that I will bring to life some day. I reside in Tucson, AZ. I am interested in all things leatherwork but I am focusing my skills on carving, sheaths, and masks at the moment. Thanks for being here! Chief Filipino
