    That is a great idea! Although I personally would worry that the Tibetan masks would get ruined over repeated use. Maybe you have another mask that you could use that isn't so old or unique?

    Hi everybody! So I finally finished a mask I was working on! It has some room for improvement but I really love it!

    The leather is just some designer sides (I think that's what they call it) from Tandy that I have gotten at some really good deals. The weight is about 2 ounces to 4 ounces. Feel free to copy my design if you like. Let me know if you want/need the dimensions. I have been putting edge kote on but I'm starting to think I will skip this step because I personally like the feel of the raw sides.

    Nicely done! Did you use the stamps for the gears or are those all hand cut/tooled/etc? Also how did you get the background on the inside of the gears? I am very impressed!

    Hello Moderators! I have been trying to post several topics and I go to add a picture or two, then get the message that I can only upload 1.46mb. So I resize my images and try to upload them again only to get the same message. I have tried to also just post one picture that is only 50kb but still get the same error message. At times I just give up, tonight it seemed that if I backed out of the post completely and got back into it that I was able to post though that hasn't always worked for me before. I'm not sure what you can do for this but I just wanted to give you the information to look out for and perhaps fix whatever bug may be causing this. Thank you for all your hard work! I love this site!

    I have some questions regarding acrylic resolene and neatsfoot oil that I am hoping someone can answer: 1. How long will acrylic resolene last? If it is on a mask that is worn once or twice a year what is the expected life? 2. Will neatsfoot oil penetrate a piece that has been covered with acrylic resolene, let's say the piece has seen moderate use for a few to several years.

    Hi Tom. I am beginning to play around with mask and after seeing your amazing piece I would like to pick your brain for some tips. I made a skull mask last year and covered it with a bazillion layers of acrylic resolene (I had three layers on it but as I wore it during a parade my sweat started coming through). It still has a bit of a smell to it unfortunately even after all this time. What do you use on the inside of your masks to help prevent sweat seeping into your mask?

    Hopefully not! You're still using the site so I think it should be fine. The search doesn't pull what I am looking for unless I type in just one or two tags, but then I have to go through so much to find anything I'm looking for. That's just my experience anyway.

    So I tried something out tonight that seemed to work fairly well. After all was said and done for my final burnishing touch I rubbed some beeswax on a piece, then flame kissed it with a lighter and immediately used my burnisher on it. I like the results, but I am not sure if this is a valid technique. 1. Has anyone else tried this? 2. Will this damage the leather piece? 3. Is there a better way? I like to use beeswax on my edges to seal them up instead of edge kote. 4. Thank you.

    Ummmmmmmmmmm sooooo ya my attempt was not very adequate. HAHAHA thank you for the tips. At this time I do have to do everything by hand, so unfortunately no buffer wheel other than my own two hands. Thank you for the assist. I have lots of work to do
