  1. Welcome to board Chris. It's always great to see someone new from L.A join the board. Maybe someday we'll be able to return Los Angeles to the leather working Mecca it once was.
  2. Paul at Leather Wranglers has some nice looking interiors that would cut the time way down. Plus he's always ready to help out and answer questions. http://www.leatherwranglers.com/craftsupplies.html Steve
  3. I hope you mean "drunk EX-friend".
  4. Very nice! I got to see Motorhead at the Whiskey a few years ago when they were inducted into the rock walk in Hollywood. It was great seeing them in such a small venue, I was glad I brought earplugs though.
  5. Jemaddux, His classes are not walk in classes and everyone starts the cycle together. You need to call and talk to them, or go in the day time to see about getting into a class. Steve
  6. Jemaddux, I have been taking class with Wayne for almost a year now. He's a great leather artist and teacher. His beginning class is very regimented so there won't be any holes in your knowledge. He systematically covers all the basics of leather work in a step by step fashion, this includes how to use all the tools, saddle stitch, dye, etc., and then when you've done that you're free to work on your own projects. You can check out his website http://www.sbearstradingpost.com/leatherclass1.html I will warn you there is always a waiting list to get in his classes. Good luck and maybe I'll see you at Standing Bears, Steve
  7. Thanks TwinOaks. I'm ashamed to say I don't use a leather wallet right now. I had to stop using my thick trucker wallet because of a bad back. So now I use a plastic (bacon) wallet like this one. http://www.shinyshack.com/uploads/images/l_bacon_wallet1.jpg I want to make a leather wallet with this configuration. Steve
  8. I had no problem having the local Tandy replace the "Z" ones with the regular crafttools for free. So it's not much of a risk.
  9. Thanks Art. Much appreciated. Steve
  10. http://www.barrykingtools.com/ This should do it for you.
  11. I need to make my myself a new wallet. Does any one have a cutting pattern for the "hipster" wallet that I can have? It's a bi fold that has six spaces for credit cards. Thanks, Steve
  12. Mitsubishi CU 865 WALKING FOOT cylinder sewing machine I have a question I hope someone can answer. I this machine good enough to sew holsters? Thanks in advance, Steve
  13. The ones with a "Z" are really bad. They came with my Tandy kit and they all bent. I exchanged them for the regular ones.
  14. Thanks ATX. I like your logo for the "Longhorn Trail Leather Guild", it's very cool. Steve
  15. Thanks for the info. That's good to know.
  16. Congrats and good luck to you.
  17. Very nice. I like how you dyed the background, and of course the stitching.
  18. That is very generous of you John. Thank you. Steve
  19. Shirley, Thanks for the info. It sounds really great. Maybe someday I can get it together to go. Steve
  20. Then where the lines intersect you stamp it with a seeder if you want. The picture is kind of small so I can't make out for sure what they're using but using a seeder is common.
  21. Shirley, Which of her classes of did you take. I have her book and I really like it. Steve
  22. Just tell them you insurance doesn't cover them in the work space.
  23. That's what I'm talking about. Very cool and original.
