My daughter washed her partner's wallet in the machine, hence dad can you come to the rescue. The image in the middle is one of our local V8 motor racing teams Holden. He wanted the Jack Daniels rivet off his old wallet incorporated. The thonging came out my best yet. Spot the obvious mistake, I put the closure stud on the wrong side. Oh well. Thanks Darryl

I have the chance to get my hands on a singer 201P sewing machine. It is hand operated, no motor at all. Would this machine be alright to do some leather on. Only wallet outers and key holder outers will be done. Thanks for any help or direction. Darryl

Nice work, Darryl -
This is my first go at making a hand made wallet, I usually use purchased inners. Actually it's my second, my first went in the bin. I was ask to make a wallet for a guy, who had one personally made 15 years ago and it was time to update. I used kangaroo leather for the inner, western tan dye and 1/8 red kangaroo leather thonging, in the double loop stitch. Hope the fellow likes it, but he lives a long way away, so he won't punch me. G'day all, I've done a pretty intensive search and found no definate answer to my problem. I am making my first all hand made wallet, I have made the outer bigger than the inner, so they line up when folded. But I am at a crossroad. How do I punch holes in the outer and inner to line up. the outer being bigger will have more holes than the inner, as my rough attempt did. I ended up with unused holes, very unsightly. I do the Double Loop stitch. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Darryl

I use ROO for all my thonging. The price is off putting but it comes in some great colours and is user friendly. Cheer's Darryl

Hi all, I have been scooting around the forum for a week now, trying to pluck up the courage to put finger to the keyboard. I am amazed at the work that people on the forum turn out. I live in a little town, Wynyard on the island of Tasmania, the southern state of Australia. I am 50 and live with my wife, we are both disabled, but I spend quite a bit of time volenteiring. I started doing leatherwork as therapy in a long stay in hospital with bipolar about twelve months ago. I stil go to the hospital on Mondays for four hours, to be with other and swap ideas. I have made myself a work station today, so I can do some work at home. Tools, leather, dyes etc are hard to get in Tassie, I have to buy online with limited sucsess. I have purchased some items from the US on ebay. Thanks for letting me join as a member, will try to put up some photos, if I can work it out. Also computer illiteate. Cheer's Darryl
