  6. Do you happen to have a 1412 stud setter?
  7. Thanks guys, it sounds like it’s probably ok then. I don’t really need it to do those long stitches, I just started wondering if there was something wrong with it, since I had read about bigger stitches on other machines.
  8. Ok, thanks. I’ve heard of patchers doing 1/2” stitches I think, so I thought this might supposed to be able to do that too.
  9. The longest stitch I’m able to get is about 3/16” , the adjuster moves smoothly and goes from tiny to this. I’m using 23 needle 207 thread. Should be able to do bigger?

  14. If you’ve never made shoes, you are probably a few years away from being able to do what you are trying to do, and that’s with a lot of serious study. There is so much more to it than making a cover for your foot. i learned a ton in the crispin colloquy, there’s a FB footwear makers forum. the best book you can buy is bespoke shoemaking by Tim skyrme. You can use a singer 31-15 or 31-20 to do almost all the upper making. a shoe patcher leaves marks and doesn’t leave stitches looking very nice. expect much disappointment and Frustration. It’s possible, but not at all easy

  17. Dude! water spots probably would dry and go back to the normal color, or you could have dipped the whole thing in water to even it out and let it dry. Don’t cut stains out! Yeah, there’s a lot of top coat sealants, I’m not sure which ones are matte though
