cool thank you very much.

Here's the dirty thing. It's a 29k51. I'm having trouble getting it to sew consistently so I'm playing with the knobs and stuff. Anyone know where I could get a breakdown diagram? Or maybe a better manual? The one I have sucks. Second one is a closer shot of the top. Last one is a shot of it in my "workshop"

Those are some nice looking machines. I've been meaning to post a pic of my new aquisition, an old Singer, but have been too lazy. I'll post some pics of it in the morning once I get off work, all I can remember for sure is the manual says copyright 1970. The best part about it is that I got it for 30$ at a barn sale. The lady said she may have some other old leather tools that she'll call me about if she happens to find them. Do you guys know how easy those old singers are to pull apart and restore? It's a long arm one that when I talked to a guy in a local shop he called them a boot making machine. This one is very dirty so i want to rip it apart, clean it and repaint it. Again I'll post some pictures of it in the morning.

Holster w/ Removable Clip Holder
twofour878 replied to ArtS's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
I like it. Did you use any kind of stiffener in the piece that slips into the loop on the clip holder? -
Nicely done. The foot can be a pain to tattoo but it looks like your skin took the ink quite well. Congrats and welcome to the club!

I love hearing about the weather all over the place. I can't help but find it amazing how places so close can be so different (mostly thinking about you people in the US here). Well Leatheroo if it's still too hot for you you're always welcome around here (for the modest price of a tip or two on letherwork ). -30C is standard right now without windchill. It almost went up to freezing though last month! Then again my sense of "normal" is skewed slightly since I'm a night shift person so I'm not outside during the day when it gets a bit warmer.

repairing a torn horn leather
twofour878 replied to twofour878's topic in Saddle Identification, Restoration & Repair
Thanks for the advice. I think for now I'm going to glue the top piece down as a kind of filler then glue and stitch new top and botoms on. We'll see what I can come up with. This saddle isn't really being used very often so I have some time to think about it. Eventually once I get some experience I'll try taking it apart and re-doing it but that can wait until I get some more experience. -
a late xmas post
twofour878 replied to twofour878's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
The lacing, although time consuming, is pretty easy. The problem with mine is that I suck at making anything straight so my holes are all way off and the start/end point doesn't look very good, but it was my first try so I'm happy. I really need a space to actually work on this stuff. These were all done sitting at my computer laying things out on my keyboard. I would do the stamping with a marble slab on my lap lol. Thanks for the reply -

a few morelast ones -
Here's a couple of projects I turned out for christmas gifts this year. The wallet is a Tandy kit, and the notebook is all done from scratch. It was great learning as I've never done lacing before this and I found out how horrible I am at cutting out straight pieces. The carving turned out alright but I think next time I'm jsut gonna stick to antiquing it since I lost a lot of the detail I was proud of in the dyeing. I think it should get nothing but better from here

I've always considered a tattoo similar to that. I've seen many people that have their shop logo tattoed on them and it looks quite nice. I don't think it's a centerpiece type of tattoo that should be highly visible (my opinion) but put in the right place it can be pretty cool. Mind, if someone has alot of tats to begin with I guess wherever they put it would be a centerpiece lol.

Sorry for the off topic post but planning on attending blizzcon with this??

Just looking at that makes my hands hurt.... Very nice.

I've worn splints on and off for years on my hands and wrists since I messed mine up as a kid. I'd suggest 11-12oz, I have some 16oz lying around and I think it'll come out too hard. I'm guessing you don't want a prefectly rigid splint, I hate them as it causes more stiffness than provides relief (might be different for you). You can always add a second layer and skive it to be nice and smooth if you need more support around the joint. I like your idea of the velcro looping back over itself. All of the splints I've used have had velcro straps and I've never wanted anything else.

It's a style that uses stretched flesh to make designs. A lot of skulls and demons and different things crawling out of your body is usually the popular way to use it for tattoos.

Can I move in??

Kit for my leather tools
twofour878 replied to carr52's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Looks cool. Just FYI the pics work perfect for me, no oversizing. -
Very nice. Either that was one amazing class or you've got some natural talent Where did you get the pattern for that skull? It's perfect for one of my friends and I need ideas for something to make for her.
-
Good job, glad to hear it went well for you. Similiar thing happened here when my friend decided that all this leather stuff I was getting into sounded cool and wanted to be there when I was practicing so he could watch. I would tell him what the steps were and he would follow along trying to learn as well. I need to find a saddle maker that will teach me as some of the ranch people around here are telling me letherworkers are so scarce around here that it's practically impossible to find someone to fix tack. I can just imagine a noob like me being one of the only saddle repair people around here, we'd be in some trouble.

Damn work and not letting me use photobucket. -
Here's a pic of the weapons. Sorry about the mess, it's the cleanest spot in my room The DVD is there for size comparison. Oh and in case you want to look into the group we're with here's a link. http://belegarth.com/ There's only 2 groups in Canada right now according to the realm list, and ours is the only one that travels to international events.
