  1. That's an amazing find. Good luck on the care of it, be a shame to see it deteriorate.
  2. Yeah we have to watch ourselves around alot of people. Unfortunately the best people can go completely backwards at the most unexpected times. One minute you're testing some nice old lady, you turn around and the next time you look at her she's throwing things better left unsaid at you.
  3. That's why I love my electronic toys. I can just write the stamp numbers in a memo and have it every time I go to order something (there's no "toy store" anywhere near me unfortunately). That would be cool though to have a leather notebook like that. Would be handy to have when you're planning a stamping pattern too so you can have an expample of the finished product in front of you.
  4. Being a ren fair guy myself I think it'll go over quite well with that crowd. It looks good. Would love to see it with the rest of the costume.
  5. I work in a hospital, I cover every department too so I have plenty of interesting stories =P Probably don't want me to share many though.
  6. I'm jealous Brad. I want a server in my house, it would make getting our fiels to each other's desktops easier.
  7. Hmm...this is always fun I live in a house with 6 computers and 3 laptops. We're all a bunch of gamers. My list is gonna be pathetic. Comp - craptastic Dell something or other (soooo need an upgrade) Mouse - Microsoft Sidewinder Speakers - Logitech 5.1 Monitor - Toshiba 32" LCD TV, Samsung 19" LCD TV Phone - Blackberry Pearl HDs - Dual 500 gig externals, 250 gig internal I also have my xbox 360 hooked up to the same TVs as the computer. Each of the people in my house has their room set up to be a gamer's safe haven. We all have mini fridges, I have a water dispenser (with hot water available). I think we have 4 xbox 360s in the house as well as random other consoles in various states of use. I'm kinda ashamed of my computer since it licks monkey nuts, but I can't afford to build a new one yet. Especially since I want to spend more money on this fine new hobby here I've discovered.
  8. That is a paintball marker that I built. It started out as a Tippmann A5 then I added a couple kits, re-routed the wiring and built an external battery case so I could have an on-off switch for the electronic trigger. I jerry rigged the barrel with some tape to cover the port holes to change the sound it made, and just messed around with it for fun. The box on the bottom is actually where the battery and switch are mounted.
  9. How do I get those little thumbs that you guys have? Me after finishing what I used to make. Having a s'more.
  10. You guys are making me hungry. My experience is pretty limited to deer, moose, partridge, rabbit, and wild boar. I love the boar and moose the most. I don't hunt big game though so the only thing I have a chance of getting is the partridge or rabbit.
  11. Welcome. I also just started and the people here have been quite helpful. There's alot of useful info and tips so good luck!
  12. Thanks for the welcome. Hopefully soon I'll be able to get some of my work up here. I just spent a whoel bunch more money on some bends and stamps, etc. Time for some practice.
  13. Man sometimes I really suck at searching. First the collars question now this. Thanks alot, that does help.
  14. Thanks. I'm making this for a friend so if it doesn't work right for her then I can always take it back and alter it. I'll use it for a learning experience for when I make them for others.
  15. I'm planning on making a couple chokers for friends but I've been wondering....do people line the inside? Or is the leather comfortable enough on it's own? I've looked at the pics on here but couldn't really tell. From what I've seen it looks like no lining is used. Tried searching for anything regarding chokers and either I'm an idiot or it just hasn't been mentioned. EDIT: Okay I redid my search and realised I really am stuipid. So let me rephrase my question. For wearing chokers/collars for long periods do you recommend a lining of some sort? or is the plain leather enough?
  16. Just wondering what tool you guys would suggest I use for making scales on either a dragon or a snake?
  17. Hey people, I just found this site the other night and so far love the information I'm getting here. I just started leatherworking and have done a total of one project. I started so I can make armor for the belegarth fighting society I'm part of. I plan on getting much more into carving and making other things as I progress so I'll probably slowly post some pics for critiques. I'll try to get a couple pics up this week of my first set of armor. It's rough but it'll work.
