  1. Hi! I'm going crazy here! I have a 1000/3000 whetstone and stropping block. I have two Japanese skiving knives. I can get my knives sharp on stone. Then I strop..then test..still sharp. But, when I pass the knife a few times through my 3.5 oz chrome leather (on top of treated granite..and tried glass) the knives dull! I've tried not stripping...and my sharpness still doesn't last. I can't possible have to sharpen throughout the day..I must not be doing something right. Any tips from anyone? Thanks!
  2. Thank you guys for all the feedback! Uwe, kwokhing doesn't have that type of folder listed for the large cylinder. Only for small. I will try surfing the web some more to see what's out there for me. I'm tired of messing up my pockets for my handbags. The hand skiving is already time consuming...can't afford a skiving machine so if I can make life a little easier with a binding attachment, I'm all for it!
  3. Ok so it's a small cylinder arm. I attached a pic of my machine. Jimi, where did you get your binder from?
  4. Hi. I am needing a raw edge binder attachment for my consew 227r cylinder machine. I've been looking on kwokhing.com. They have attachments for small cylinder and large cylinder machines. I'm assuming I have a large cylinder machine. I can't decide if I need the khf26 or khf8A. Is anyone familiar with these attachments? The khf26 is a suspended attachment. Will I need to change any parts like the presser feet? Also, is there an affordable provider for these in the United States? Thanks!

  6. LumpenDoodle2 it ended up being my outer presser foot...it came with my machine. It had the right toe sawed off...which is what I needed..but there was extra metal not ground off that was causing the inner foot to move to the right as it went up to the section.
  7. Thank you for your response! I actually figured out the problem after a while. I took my outer foot off and noticed that the movement of the inner foot to the right stopped! I looked at the outer foot (looks like it was fabricated some how by whoever lol) had a section of metal that stuck out. So, as the inner foot got to that section it had no choice but to follow and move to the right! Sooo I got a metal file and sanded it off...voila!! No more movement to the right and I can finally so straight edges without a guide. I've had this machine for almost a year and have been at my wits end trying to sew straight by going at an angle....simple fix!
  8. Hello everyone. This is my first post and I'm having a problem. I have a consew 227 r. My machine moves my material to the right and it's causing it to be impossible to see straight edges without an edge guide. After some inspection....I see that my inner presser foot starts off in the right position, but once it gets a second from its lowest point..it moves to the right and when it gets back to the highest point it moves back to the center where it should be. At first I thought the feed dog was moving it...but it does it even when it isn't able to contact the feed dog. Any advice on what's going on?
