i was born australian,from the first ride up the st on the milkmans clydesdale bareback,at age 5,i wanted a horse n to be a cowboy.i spent many school days n years drawing horses n western saddles.hoppy gene n roy were me sat afternoon buddys .by 14 i had an arabian,i made bridles out of dads ol belts.worked odd jobs to buy feed,got work in two old prestigious saddle shops in sydney.joined a local rodeo assn,started n failed in business [saddle]twice rodeo'd in my state for awhile[not too successfully] read about a world bull ridin champ gary leffew[stinky] reading a book psycho psybernetics,i purchased it, then' how to stop worrying n start living'.within two more years n a letter [rant] to president nixon,he graciously ok'd me a special visa, ol pete was texas bound via nz tahiti n panama n a bus ride.visited two shops [saddle] one in tx other in ideho, then married in tx.6 years n a passage thru hell later,i remarried got a job with bob blackwood rodeo equip n 4 more years gays rodeo co of mesquite tx put me in my own shop on a pay back plan.i've made a ton of bareback riggins,chaps n bronc saddles and shipped to all the countrys that have rodeo's germany ,france, italy,canada, australia,new zealand, oh i forgot guam.my best years were th 90's usually 10 or 12 in top 15 in usa canada n aust,95 13 of 16 at las vegas finals.in 95 december rheumatoid arthritis come to stay with me,10 years of hell later,my rodeo business has changed hands,i now make a few saddles n pretty much any thing i'm lucky to be called on to make.my wife of 32 years has been my everything good experience an on th ground angel, my belief in jesus christ [john 3:16]and HIS SALVATION my two mainstays,if you've read this far god blessings b on you, adios peter john hennessy ps; i'm now in facebook pete hennessy leather or type emaddress petehennessy@earthlink.net.i have several albums of leather work there .
