  1. 1 3/4" wide collar with 2" lining and 48" x 1 1/4" leash, mahogany finish, Swarovski crystal Roped Berry and Rain Star conchos, nickel hardware and pyramids. Another satisfied customer because they got exactly what they asked for and they did not have to settle for something from a big box store.

  5. Never gave consignment much thought before but thanks for all the knowledge from past experiance. Sounds like a lot of work for very little pay back, even if you have a good selling product the store is making most the profit. Great information for us less experianced professionals, think I will stick with custom orders.
  6. Another question, why no keeper on the inside of the belt to keep the two pieces aligned?
  7. I can send you info on how to make one if you send me a meesage with your email address. Don't know were you can buy one and shipping cost out of the country are too expensive to make it worth your while to have me make it.
  8. Both very nice pieces of work.
  9. Welcome, read your story and had to add a reply. Lost my closest friend that also just happened to enjoy leather a few years ago and went thru a similar stretch of putting it away for a while. Now the passion is back and enjoying it again, each time I sit down at the bench it brings back good memories of working and discussing projects with that friend. It is like riding a bicycle, maybe a little shaky at first but it all comes back quickly. Have fun and enjoy the forum.
  10. Show us some of that work. Catch you next time, Mark

  11. There was a recent post under Leather Tools about differant compounds for stropping that may be worthy of pinning. I believe it was by Knipper. Name: Mark Bentley UserName: bentley IP Address: 71.209.146.53 Email Address: bentley.leather@gmail.com
  12. Great information, I have been doing leather work for many years and had never heard of the various compounds available. Now the search begins on where to find them. Thank you.
  13. Been two years my dear friend, still in my thoughts and you still inspire me to be a better husband, father, grandfather and craftsman. Got a new art project to light and sure would love to discuss with you!

God Bless, keep those stars shining bright!

  14. Thank you for this post. I too live in the Valley of the Sun near Williams Gateway and often see fighter jets fly over our roof tops while doing touch and go landings, it always reminds me there are still brave Soldiers protecting my family and country. God bless America and our Soldiers! Mark
  15. I don't know about tooling dyed leather, don't use it. Not sure how you will hi-lite with the same color if it is already dyed. No experiance working with it and not really interested in byeing a large piece of dyed leather for a 4" x 24" piece I need for a collar. I also like the way you can still see the original leather color through the dye, just a pink hue. Not saying what you like is wrong, just not what I am looking for. Mark
  16. One coat, another coat will mess with the first coat, taking some off, unless you wipe it clean with a damp cloth and start over. The ecoflo stuff is water based and most will wipe off if you use a wet cloth. BTW, thanks for the compliments and you are welcome. Mark

  22. That is what I used, put it on heavy with a paper towel, let it puddle in the the stamped area and wipe it down with a damp towel on the remainder to remove excess, the more you wipe the more you will remove. Seal with Resolene cut 50/50 with water, if you brush the Resolene on it will remove more hi-lite so be careful. Try it on a scrap piece first. I also clean my leather with oxalic acid (wood bleach) before applying finish, seems to help. Mark
  23. Very nice work, welcome to LW from Arizona.
