  1. plinkercases, I used 3 coats of Ecoflo supersheen. I didn't dye over it just around it carefully.
  2. Exactly...I didn't want to leave the other trout out so I made it for all DEM trout!
  3. Heres another wallet I just finished today in Bison Brown, with trout and initials.
  4. Man! You haven't had time to be on the net...you've been busy! I love your work, very nice!
  5. I'm a firm believer in dry time. I usually let a dyed item dry for about 24hrs before I mess with it. Then like Sheilajeanne said buff it with a soft cloth or sheeps wool pads until it quits coming off, and then use top coat of choice.
  6. I do too. I knew I wanted to go with the white stitching as soon as I saw how the brown turned out.
  7. Thanks holliesterr! Im thinking about getting some of the acrylic templates soon.
  8. Thank you Kiwican! Yeah I could see me doing something like that!
  9. That buck came from a very old hunting book that was my grandfathers. I changed the antlers, and the face a little bit and that was my template. I just used tracing paper and transfered it onto the leather. Im really just a hobbyist, but I find myself doing more and more for folks and these slings are starting to become pretty popular.
  10. Here's one of my latest projects. This sling didn't have any resist this time. Finished in eco flo saddle tan antique and Fiebings Aussie. I love this color.
  11. I got the template free from Make Supply. He sells the acrylic templates, but also has free downloadable versions. Just make sure to have your printer settings right before you print them. He has some nice stuff on there. Thanks for all the compliments guys! I really appreciate it!
  12. That worked garypl! I just used the paint program but put those demensions in the pixel adjustment and it worked great! Thanks man.
  13. Well my wallet that I had for years fell apart, and I have been wanting to try one for a while, so here it is. This is a 5 pocket bifold made from 3-4oz Hermann Oak craftsman grade veg tanned leather, in ecoflo Bison Brown with a coat of Aussie. My edges could have been better, but I'm happy with the color and the stitching.
  14. Thanks garypl, I'm gonna' try that!
  15. I have a couple of projects I want to share that Ive just finished, but I cant get them downsized small enough for some reason. I'm trying to use the "paint" program on my computer to do this and when I save them it says they are small enough but when i go to attach them it doesn't work. HELP!!!!
  16. I like it! Looks like you have an awesome view out those windows too.
  17. I believe you're right Mattsbagger. I was just hoping to be able to use what I had, but I may just get some different dye. Thanks.
  18. Hey guys, I have a fella' wanting me to try and match this color on a rifle sling but I'm limited on my dyes/antiques. I have some saddle tan antique that is close to the figure carving in the middle of the sling pictured here, but I'm not sure what I'm gonna' do to get that darker color for the main body of the sling. I was thinking maybe neatsfoot oil or olive oil either over or under the antique...Anyways any suggestions or recommendations on color would be greatly appreciated.
  19. Thats nice garypl. Dang what a friend to make something that cool for a guys birthday, and thanks for sharing the dimensions with us!
