anyone know what line 24 snap setter I can get for my hiker press? hiker says a 3 3/8" smooth die will fit into theirs
-
anyone seen any line 24 snaps but with magnets assist to it? basically I want the magnet to draw it together then if I want extra safety then button the line 24 snap (for a sheath thats is hard to reach/see)

I've probably cut 60 holes of webbing with it
-
I started using this harder HDPE plastic which gave me really clean holes in webbing but it must have been a little to hard because it shattered my WUTA 7.0 punch! (or it was just a weak cutter, not sure) this is the material I used https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000ILLNZC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I really liked the wuta punch set however I did end up just breaking one. I've been cutting holes in webbing and to get a good clean hole ive needed to go to harder back board other wise it presses to far in, tried this harder HDPE plastic and that must have shattered it (or it was just a weak cutter, not sure) this was the 7.0

Bye guys looking to get a grommet press, research tells me it’s the best of the brands (Stimson almost as good). Mainly though it’s the only one I could find with self piercing grommets stainless #0 rolled which I need for a product (let met know if I missed an alternative) is there a way to use the hiker press for stamping my leather logo into leather?
-
thanks I've been working with you guys on a quote, appreciate it

hey guys I have some bags with zippers that unzip themselves I'm trying to figure out if theres a way to make them a bit stiffer? everything I research just tells me how to make a stiff zipper easier to pull, I need the opposite!

Anyone have any recommendations for outsourcing some basic cut and sew leather manufacturing of goods. I'd like to be doing smaller runs like 25-100. I think bigger companies want to do a lot more than that. But would be open to different options. Also looking for a manufacturer of small tactical molle pouches.

found a good discussion about different presses https://signs101.com/threads/are-all-grommet-machines-created-equal.62495/ Hiker is best - the adjustability of different thickness -comes with base (plastic now) Stimpson is second best

Hey guys I was looking at some ostrich leather online and the little bumps in it make me think that it might be good for a motorcycle seat as the bumps would make it grippy? so you're not sliding around as much anyone have a reckoned ostrich leather? I dont have any samples of that type of leather so not quite sure where to start

thanks I think I use v69 bonded nylon thread in my sailrite machine when singing the hole do you think just using one of those jet lighters is fine? thats what I usually do before setting in webbing seems to work nice I think I might have used that stuff before I got the sailrite that could handle heavier thread I use v69 bonded nylon thread with like a 20 or 22 needle

hey guys I use Simpson grommets because it's the only rolled stainless I could find tall enough for my needs. Are setters pretty universal to accepting different setters? Is there a 'best press' that most people end up using? this is the one stimpson sells: https://webstore.stimpson.com/405-machine this is the #1 hand setter that I have from them https://webstore.stimpson.com/basic-ss-rr-sw-set-1-mhd1rrgswssbs

yeah I guess I could just resew it would the double cap rivets do much? they seem like they might not be wide enough to hold the material down
-
what about ostrich leather? it looks like theres little bumps that might be grippy?? anyone have a good supplier and brand that would be good for seats?
-
thank you I emailed them and she said also try the Napa Latigo as a second option
-
what kind/size of rivet would you recommend for reinforcing this MOLLE webbing belt? It's just stitched on the top and the weight of the bag that gets strapped into the webbing rips it (found out on my previous one). Wondering how I could reinforce it better thanks

what kind of leather would be really stiff (even if it gets wet) but ideally not that thick/heavy and would be nice if it was water proof and pre oiled.

hey guy I'm trying to make a sheath for a multitool but all the sheath designs I see have the top part really exposed to water seeping in. Me and my customers often find ourselves in the rain and mud. wondering if theres a technique for closing off the top part more? some random sheaths for reference (I'd like to make final of leather) left to right 1) you can see the exposed area at the top 2) has those little ear flaps, thats the only design I've seen that addresses what I was thinking (does this work with leather?) 3)if you make the sheath go higher than usual it can be hard to pull it out and water still can seep around that pretty easy. My only other thought is like a zipper style but that can be finicky on the belt. any ideas or examples?

Hey guy I'm cutting holes in webbing with a punch but wood end grain is to soft as the webbing sort of pushes into the wood and doesn't cut fully. I tried a plastic cutting board and that does better but still not a clean hole, I usually have to burn the rest out. Is there a hard surface I could use without damaging my edge? I'm using WUTA punches
