Coworkers radio strap.
Memphis514 replied to drewberto87's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
nice...love Stitch -
One of my brothers in my M/C had a heart attack and the ER people had to cut his old belt off. He loved that belt, so his chapter got together and asked me to make him a new one. I told them I would do it for free but they insisted on paying (i only turn down $$$ 3 times, then I accept LOL). He had a simple black belt with our M/C initials, so i whipped up a dual layered belt (10 oz. black with a 3 oz. tan backer), stitched with #207 black thread and I had an old solid brass buckle that I brasso'd up to shine and his road name on the tip I hope he likes it.

thank you...i will go that route

Firefighter Radio Strap
Memphis514 replied to Memphis514's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
yeah it pops honestly....lots of practice and then more practice. I use a fine tipped applicator with the choice of color and pray that I can keep a steady hand.- 5 replies

Thank you sir. As I am sure you are aware, I am still working on improving that holster pattern. I think it so satisfying to do the trial and error to constantly find a better way to do it. Since doing her's I have made more improvements. And yes, knowing that she is using it on the job is TRULY gratifying. She has even drummed me up some business lol

Ok, I have searched and I just cannot find and answer and every company I try to call/email is not answering (virus thing i guess). I want to run some #207 thread but I need to know the exact needle that is needed. the needles I got from SLC are WAY to long to fit in the machine. If someone can point me to where I can get the right one it would be greatly appreciated. Also is #207 the largest thread that can be ran through the Class 26?

I am in need of white veg tan leather that can be tooled/stamped. Anyone have suggestions?

I mostly do wallets and what not but my daughter is a firefighter and she wants me to make her and her coworkers some radio straps. What is the best leather to use for this and from which supplier. From my research it looks like English bridle is the standard but I have also found that there are different variations to this type of leather. Also I was under the impression that stamping English bridle is not ideal. Thank you in advance for any advice/information anyone can provide
