  1. I made this notebook cover for my local cattle farmer I deal with. He had worn out one from a maker from somewhere out west from years ago, he was very happy to get another one. The lighting was different when I took the second photo but the first one is the correct color of stain.
  2. Thanks guys for the responses and concerns. I took those photos before I actually carried it. I think my leather is thick enough to prevent the leatherman from twisting and touching the phone but I actually do carry it with the phone turned backwards just to be on the safe side. It's been really fun getting all the comments from people in stores and places seeing it.
  3. Thanks Aven, I grew up outside of Christiansburg in a little community called Elliott. I sure remember those days at family get togethers at granddad's running around with cousins playing army or cowboys and indians. Since I made this holster, we've been blessed with our first grandbaby. Can't wait to start making him things.
  4. Fredk, his cb handle was "Paladin", so he wanted a knights head.
  5. Made this cover for a retired (UPS) coworker. It was my first one, not perfect but he was very happy with it. Learned things to do different next time.
  6. playing with their "pirates" guns and a small broken piece of wood as their "knife". There grandmother ask if I could make them a gun belt with a holster for their "knife". I made them a couple of belts and holsters (that would fit a 6 shooter later) then thought they had to have a better knife, so I carved these out for them. Needless to say, theses boys were thrilled to get theses, two happy customers!!
  7. A couple of 9 and 10 year olds in our family was constantly playing with their "pirates" guns and a small broken piece of wood as their "knife". There grandmother ask if I could make them a gun belt with a holster for their "knife". I made them a couple of belts and holsters (that would fit a 6 shooter later) then thought they had to have a better knife, so I carved these out for them. 8. Thanks Ryano, garypl, Hi Riem, sorry for the late response, I haven't had a chance to get back on here since you ask about (de-hairing). The back piece is just a piece of veg tan, died with a light coat of fiebings tan antique and resoline.
  9. A family member wanted me to make him a leatherman case out of his (Blesbock )hide he killed in Africa. It was very challenging being it was very soft from the way it was tanned. The hide is very, very soft. I couldn't get the edges to slick like I like for them to, (maybe somebody has any experience working with soft leather has any advice) even after sanding and burnishing, the softness combined with the glue just wouldn't become slick. He was very happy with it. (Maybe us leather workers are just to picky) Lol. It was also very hard to keep the hair out of the stitches up the sides, but I finally managed to get it done. The stain was actually a little darker, I couldn't get my phone to capture the true color for some reason that day. Overall I was happy with how it turned out, being my first one.
  10. I use a flashlight and leatherman a lot on my job and didn't want to wear 3 different holsters, so I came up with this instead. Took a lot of time to figure out and build. Being my first one, I messed up on the stitching but thankfully it's mine not a customer.
  11. Made this for one of my son in laws for his lawn service.
  12. Thanks Az, it took me awhile on this one being my first one.
