  1. So THAT is what I would look like if I rode a horse. Ba ha ha...poor horse! (snicker)
  2. A bib-great idea, have you seen the plastic ones that have a little shallow pocket along the bottom that is open--so when the food splats on there is slides into the pocket. Thinking the leather might be a bit slick. Or maybe a quick "Man Bag" for dad for the quick run to the store--hold a couple diapers, maybe a bottle, and a rag, maybe his cell phone
  3. Your had sewing is super clean! Love it. I was zooming on the machine sewn part but with hand sewing like yours who needs a machine. lol uh ok...maybe for quickness but still. It is a good looking piece. Marie
  4. I have an Iwata as well, HB-c (I think). What I love about it compared to Badger or pasche is how it feels in your hand. Smooth steel, heavy with quality (not uncomfortable) and perfectly balanced. Sure the Badger and Pasche will do the job but the Iwata is my fav. If you are just starting out..hey work your way up. Though I just saw some today online somewhere for $119, which is half of what I paid for mine many years ago.
  5. Chopper is BEAUTIFUL!! THe other fur babies are too! But I love the color -brindle? I think. Nice looking collars too! Marie
  6. You are welcome-I love jewelry and do some beading and wire, my head is FULL of ideas screaming to get out. At least I think it is the ideas. hmmm. Can't wait to see what becomes of it. M
  7. Do you have a stained glass place around you? We use a few patina liquids that might work on them. I bet if you went in, or called they might be able to help you use the ones you have. Also Bearman has more experience with Stained glass than I do, he might be able to tell you right off the top of his head if something like this would work. Marie
  8. Tom your piece is beautiful. I did a little photoshop action and forgive my novice abilities with a touch pad and pointer finger--lol If only I had a pen and a digital pad! Anyway, I picture your necklace with a silver wire wrap, then to swirl down and be hammered flat on the swirl but with texture. Then instead of a chain, two more flat hammered silver pieces to form the back of the necklace, then hooking on to a clasp. It would give it that flexibility but yet be somewhat form fitting and sexy too. Just my 2 cents. I love wire work and the elements all together would be gorgeous--just sorry I couldn't get the vision in my head onto the photograph. Personally I like the left side of the thing I did...more feminine. Hope this comes thru right. Marie
  9. Bless you Hilly, They passed out those bus driver forms to the kids to take home to their parents. My daughter was 13 hands it back and says "OH I don't think you want my mom behind the wheel of the bus unless you want the kids to learn a whole new vocabulary!" Making me sound all redneck LOL But totally the truth unless I was issued Duct Tape--forget it!! ha ha
  10. Friday the 13th, black cats & ladders don't get me but a full moon....the freaks come out! I used to work for United Airlines....and you knew by the calls when it was a full moon! Crazies! PS...hope your finger gets better fast!
  11. Hey they are cool. But I think skull ones would be cool too!! hearts with wings are popular now too. How about those other kinds that snap around a pony tail for when you are riding? Look very American Indian. Those are cool, and you can really only find them in black. I would like to see them more artsy. Marie
  12. Hey Deuce the old style ones you used to make...has anyone tried them on stained glass for burnishing copper foil?? Do you still make those? I am thinking I would love to give one a try on my glass, it looks like it would feel great in your hand! Marie
  13. Isn't that a shame. But at least WE can sleep at night. Even if it is in a tent at some point. I just wasn't brought up this way. I don't get it, I feel like I teach my kids to be honest and caring, and tolerant, so they can have a better world, so OTHERs can have a better world when we are gone. These big corp thieves need to be punished, it is infuriating. If I speed my A.. gets a ticket! Grrrr... ok moving on
  14. I have had them send me a collection notice--legal like...after I had cancelled a year before in good standing. I wrote them a scathing email, to which I got an appropriate response but I was SO mad. I don't buy ANY of their publications at all now, won't do it! It is infuriating they get away with it--but I think it is like fishing, you put it out there enough and you are gonna catch something! They make enough on people not following up or not paying attention to warrant them giving it a whirl.
  15. Des, My 2 cents....I am new--so it is a super shiney copper 2 cents! The weight--ONE step at a time! Many of us know how it is. You know you walk out the front door tomorrow and you walk till you get a bit tired--then you walk back. Each day add a few more steps. If it is for 5 minutes to start, it is 5 minutes more than yesterday! It is such an easy thing to kick ourselves for, wether it is medical or just lack of control, or plain old LOVE of food (ME). Society tells us and show us we should feel bad. Well WE DO FEEL BAD--unhealthy uncomfortable and blah! So Des, I challenge you if you go walk tomorrow...I will go walk tomorrow! And trust me I have had my heels dug in for a couple years now....so PM me and we can help each other. Anyone else want to enter this WALK A THON ? Before you sell, use those tools...why the heck not--people understand used crafting tools. Forget you are in a rural area--there is the internet, and a post office! Good Luck and hope to hear from you. Marie
  16. I am so excited to have found this--I have written 3 people who posted their feathers looking for this !! yeah. doing the happy dance! Thanks! Marie

Yeah listen to your daughter. I think it is one of those things we (children) are still looked at and sometimes seen as that cute (really cute) 5 yr old....but Dad... lol even when we are 40! I will always be the kid. Love ya dad!
  18. WOW! Is all I can say--and that goes to ALL the work sent out. Funny thing is I was just searching for a leather feather how to. I haven't introduced myself but I am rhallskid--literally his daughter in NC. I don't do leather, but came on to help Dad get those pictures on here, and am now totally addicted. Luckily I got the Hall artistic abilities (which stretch the gammut) !! So I have to try everything!! I can't play and instrument, not the best singer...so scratch those! ha ha Now THIS feather I need to understand how to do it--may never ever do one but am in awe. I can't wait to see who gets what next!! And now have to figure out how to get my paws on some leather....and..... oh DAD!!....

I am not sure the size, but sent to Dad so he can answer. He has been working leather for 30 yrs or more as a hobby. He does it all by hand, even the sewing! Always amazes me. He made me purses, key chains, rings and oh the most fabulous thing was the Star Trek leather belt and holders for each of the little plastic communicators and stuff when I was about 12 for me and my cousin. We were the coolest on the block!

ok so this is my first post... I joined to help my dad who would prefer to use the laptop as a skeet than anything. But in trying to sway him away from shooting it I found this site and wa-la..there is hope that he joins our century. So..here I am not new to computers but new to blogs and such navigating so I can 'interpret' if you will so he can fully enjoy this site and interact with people that are fabulous artist like him. My first lesson is how to add pictures...hang in there with me while I figure it out--I will try not to waste space here while learning. If this works these are images of something my dad did for the pay it forward thing they are doing on here, which is very cool.
