Hi. I am looking for rolls of Florentine Lace that is WIDER than the 3/16" normally carried by my local TLF Store. I am not very skilled with the Australian Strander so mine come out, er, wiggly? I am braiding around 1" and 1 and 1/2" dowels and would really love to have the edges lay flatter than what I have been making here. I would love to be steered in the right direction. Hi, 5-8 oz leather works well for the briefcase. If you are usng latigo I suggest you be aware that if it rubs against your skirt or blouse it WILL stain it! Pictures and construction help are in the Al Stohlman books, volumes one thru three. I think the name is something like " Making Leather Cases" or something close to that creative title! Kari, Not to be a smart aleck or anything like that, how about your computer? Have you noticed it taking longer than it used to when opening sites? Try clearing your history and cache. I have had problems in the past with just needing a little more space, and no my stupid computer didn't warn me! LOL However, if there is something I can check out for you, just let me know. Dianne

I couldn't get there either. It took a little doing. Just don't remember how I did find it. However, as a note to all, I did get the beveler that Hilly sent, it is awesome. I am not very used to it yet, will take some practice to become proficient I believe! I DID get the order from Springfield Leather, number 114-43, and guys, this thing is AWESOME! It fits into my swivel knife, is easy to maneuver and I only have one complaint! It is wide, and I did order an extra one, so I am going to grind it down to give me a smaller, less thicker one and the original for larger lines. Thank you all sooo much for the help! Hi Again Ya'll, I have searched springfield leather site again and cannot locate the type of tool you are describing. Under "easy beveler" it shows and edger/beveler tool, for trimming, not the one I am needing for my tooling. I also checked under the swivel knife tools and could find no blades. Perhaps I really don't know what I am "talking" about. I have written a letter to their customer service. Will give them time to answer. The other site, the saddle journal offered to sell me a advert for the next issue, but had no information on the speedystamper. I need more coffee!! :-) Di

Luke, I do bevel borders on my tool boxes and belts, pretty much plain lines I reckon, but I will have to practise and see what I can get to work. Hi Ya'll. I am looking for a mysterious little tool called a "Push Beveler". I have spinal damage and at times tap, tap, tapping my beveler is impossible. I have heard of a push beveler, but have never seen one. At times I DO use my bevel tool in my hand, guiding it along with downward pressure. It is really uncomfortable and some days even that is impossible as well. I often wonder if there is a handle I could attach to my crafttool, or if there is something I could adapt to this use. One of the TLF managers suggested a "push beveler" and said she would try to find me one, but it has been several months and she has forgotten to look. So, here I am, hat in hand.... If anyone knows of one, knows what it looks like, or has suggestions for something I could try to adapt, I would appreciate it. Many Thanks in advance for the consideration. Dianne

I must be nuts.. I really must be nuts..... I don't see any pictures, I don't see any attachments, it has been like that all morning... I CAN'T SEE ANYTHING....maybe I am not just leather-challenged?? OMG I am electronically challenged as well..... where are the pictures???? Someone please help me!!! <whimper>

I just had to send a picture of my dragon. I finished it in mid January and it didn't come out quite as bad as I had expected. It is a hand drawn dragon traced onto a piece of leather that had holes in it from the tanning process and rollers. I lifted the scales with a filet technique, then singed it all with a propane torch when finished. Smelled a little like dinner, (meaning yes, I do burn food often) but it isn't too bad to to look at... now I need some suggestions about framing...any ideas? Thanks in advance. Sunshine

Actually I found the instructions in an Al Stohlman book. I laid the gun up on sight edge and drew around it, then without lifting the gun I laid it on the side and drew around that side of it, then rolled it to the other side, traced it again. It was very easy to figure out, the illustration makes it easier, I have attached a couple of pictures maybe they will help. I can't remember the name of the book with the directions but will look when I go to the store today and will email this afternoon. Dianne

Patterns for inside the pants deringers are not hard to make at all! The photos are of my 25 deringer, the clip works great inisde the back waist of my pants or skirts and also works well on a bra. I draw lefthanded and it works well! It took only about 30 minutes to sketch, cut and sew!! I also wet molded the holster as well. Wonderful friend did my first one, she taught me how to make almost any quick holster. Havent tried any fancy ones yet! Dianne

Jim, Thank you! I have made other styles of moccasins for personal use and for others and that is a great pattern! I love the buckle feature. My next question is are you going to stiffen the sole of the shoe on the outside or inside and what type of material are you using ? I mean, are you using a suede, or is it veg-tan and what ounce/size have you made this with? I can see these being made with a nice 7-8 oz and used as daily wear. ALL of the moccasins I have made to date are worn as "house slippers" and I don't know how to make a solid or hard sole! Thank you for your patience! Di
