With out going through all of that, can you tell us what a ground seat is?

The pedal has a pretty short travel, but you can set the speed limit and push the pedal to the floor, but it will only go as fast as your setting, if that makes any sense

@CdK Nice! I took a Dremel tool and opened up the front of my needle presser foot so I could see it better. Please let us know when you get it installed.

The 750SL And the 750SH are in fact the same motor except for the circuitry. The SH has additional circuitry to protect it from overheating when sewing extremely thick leather at extremely slow speeds. Also, the 750SH has more functions programmed into the controller, but I’m not sure what those extra functions consist of. The 750SL is approximately $300 delivered in the US, and the 750SH is approximately $350 delivered in the US

So far, I am very happy with it, like I said, I have a speed reducer, but I’m not using it because of the controllability of this motor. I have sewed two layers of 16 ounce skirting leather with no problems at all at the slowest setting of 50

I purchased the HM-750SL.

Just curious if anyone else has purchased one of these yet? If so, what are your thoughts?

I just bought some royal blue the other day, and so far I have found that results differ widely between different types of veg tan leather. I really like the results on the lightest colored Veg tan Leather, but not so much on test pieces of reddish harness leather. It turned them more brown than blue.

I wonder if a bench grinder might be too high of RPM’s for burnishing. It might tend to burn the edges.

Sorry, yes I installed it and have made several bags with it and am very pleased with its performance, however I have only used it on 2 layers of 5/6 oz leather so far. I will try to sew max thickness for my machine and see how it does. It was very easy to install and set up using existing motor mount holes, and my belt from the clutch motor fit the new motor. I am fairly new at sewing, so I can’t give a professional review, but I can say that it is night and day difference from the clutch motor, I have so much control now going stitch by stitch. I wasn’t sure how I would like the Needle position sensor, but I am very pleased with it and use it almost the time. My machine has a speed reducer from the clutch motor, but I didn’t end up using it because I can go so slow without it.
