I have an Artisan Toro 3200 for sale. I purchased the machine new in 2010 and estimate it has been used 150-200 hours. It comes with pedestal stand and table top, left, right, and double presser feet, and roller guide. I'll also include extra needles and bobbins, as well as several spools of thread and machine oil. The machine has been well cared for and is in excellent condition. Asking price is $1600. I won't be able to ship so pick up will be the only option. I'm located in Colorado but am willing to meet within a short distance for delivery.

We moved from a much larger house, going from a 40’ x 24’ sewing and craft space to a spare bedroom ... 12.5’ x 11’. Saving inches is critical and moving my leather stitcher (Artisan Toro 4000) is part of that. I’ve been looking for a good, small table for a while now, finally finding it in a Merrow Machine Helmsman table. My wife already has a Merrow machine on one of these tables, so I was able to measure for feasibility first. It looked good, so I ordered another. The result? Very stable! I moved the head as inboard on the table as I could while still keeping a good amount of free space under the cylinder arm. The larger casters on the Helmsman actually roll better than the larger table (the room is carpeted). Although it might not seem to be the case, the pedal is completely comfortable to use. I haven’t figured out a solution for a convenient foot lift yet (knee lift perhaps), so am using the hand lever for now. Please see the before and after pictures. Also, the old table (in perfect condition) is for sale. I’ll post that separately in the classifieds.

Hello, I just recently got my first industrial machine -- a used Artisan 618-1SC. I'm just testing it out with leather, and am having problems with the tensions. Specifically, my bobbin tension is as tight as possible, and my upper tension is as loose as possible, and yet I'm still getting the bottom thread showing. The bobbin tension is so tight that the thread barely comes out when bounce it like a Yo-Yo (the technique I've seen in a lot of videos as a way to tell the correct bobbin tension) The upper tension is so loose that any looser and the knob would come off I'm using 5-6oz bridle leather; a Groz-Beckert 135x16TRI size 20 needle; and size 92 polyester thread. See attached photos for the issue I went through the machine manual and checked that all recommended adjustments are within spec (they are). I believe I've threaded the machine correctly, based on the manual and a youtube video. In particular, the upper thread is correctly going through the thread controller disk, and I threaded the tension disc with the presser foot up (and made sure the thread seated fully in the disc) I've removed the bobbin spring and cleaned the area with isopropyl alcohol. I also re-bent the spring so that it applies tension well. I've also noticed that when I do a back-tack using the reverse lever, the stitch gets a bit loose As it is, the tension balance is not terrible -- I could live with it. But it seems wrong that the bobbin tension is at its maximum and the upper tension at its minimum. With this setup, there would be no room for adjustment at all! Can anyone give some advice about what else to check? Also, is there a dealer that supplies parts for this machine? I tried emailing Artisan but haven't heard back Thanks! Alex

I searched through the archives and I found some posts regarding the Artisan machines but they are fairly old posts. A friend of a friend has a gently used Artisan Toro 4000 R. This would be my first serious leather machine if I purchase it. I like to do upholstery projects, horse blanket repair, and horse bridles, belts etc. For those of you that have one of these do you still like the machine? Any idea on a fair price for a used one? Or am I better off getting a Tippmann Boss. Thanks.

Hello to all, I posted in the show-off board already and forgot to stop in here to say hello, so here I am to say it. :-) I've been tooling leather as a hobbyist for about 3 years total strung over an eight year period. I've had a couple of moves that left me with little to no space to pursue the craft, but now I'm back into it. I mainly have focused on learning to tool veg tanned leathers, but I am also interested in getting into garments. I enjoy making my own things and participating in an art that is so rich in history and exemplary works. I just hit the 50 year mark back in November 2014. I've enjoyed a career as a digital artist for twenty some years now but have always enjoyed my roots in classical materials such as oil paints and more recently acrylics and watercolors. Working in leather is, for me, among the most enjoyable mediums for artistic expression due in part to it's practical nature. I get to make beautiful things that don't just hang on a wall or sit on a hard disk. I have always loved learning new things and in this area of the arts of making, I have vast areas of unexplored territory. That fact excites me! I live in a suburb of Portland Oregon with my wife of nearly 30 years, my adult daughter and her daughter (our granddaughter). Our adult son lives nearby and he and I collaborate on many projects related to his coffee business. If you're still reading, thank you for being interested. I hope to get to know some of you going ahead and very much hope to learn more through the experience.

I have a Consew 206rb-5 in tremendous condition and has been well maintained. I upgraded the clutch motor to a servo motor and love its performance. I would not be selling the machine if I hadn't found an artisan I like at such a great price. This machine has served me very well. Includes, table, servo motor, and all accessories. I also have an extra mechanical clutch motor I would consider sending with it. I am located in Portland OR feel free to call! 715-271-9558 item is to large to ship so I would prefer pickup only or I could deliver within 50-100 miles. This machine has provided all my needs up to currently. I am only upgrading. Still very happy with the machine! Asking price is $1000 Tony
