I'm looking for the following leather stamps. If you have any of them please let me know. I will buy them or we can do a trade. I have lots of stamps that you might want. Please note the stamp number to the left of the image. That is the exact stamp I'm looking for. Note that there are 2 stamps that do not have an image. Both of these are the Bobcat badge for Cub Scouts. They look the same as the Craftool version except one has NO NUMBER and the other is numbered 8403 on the back of the stamp. I'm trying to organize my 3d stamps into categories. This includes the 3d stamp sets also. Between Craftool, Midas, The Leather Factory and the various stamp sets, there are around 1,000 2d/3d stamps. My plan is to stamp them on leather squares, then organize them in notebooks in those plastic sheets that hold slides or baseball cards. I work with scouts and want them to sign out these stamps instead of leaving them out. Many of the stamps are expensive to replace. You would be surprised how many get "lost". I realize that a particular stamp may fall under more than 1 category so i will make multiple copies to cover all the categories they fit in. The categories I have so far are: Animals/Insects/Reptiles (Should these be separate?) Native American Symbols Western Scouts/Youth Groups Religion Nature Biker Organizations Sports Zodiac Celtic Military/First Responder (Tandy just came out with 10 stamps that would fit here) Vehicles Misc. I know I need additional categories since there are so many that don't fall into any of the other categories. So... What categories should I add/delete? What is the minimum number of stamps to start a new category? I'm thinking 6. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks, Dale

I need 2d and 3d leather stamps and sets. I work with scout and youth groups and am trying to get 2 each of all the pictorial leather stamps and stamp sets. If you have some that you are no longer using I could sure use them. Between Craftool, Midas, and The Leather Factory 3d stamps there were about 740 made. Not including the sets. I have less than half of those. So here is the deal: 1. If you could donate stamps that would be fantastic. My address is listed below. In fact I will take any tools that you want to donate. The Leather Factory Stamps - People often confuse these with craftool and midas With the exception of a few, the stamps number range is between 8501 and 8548. I have very few of these and no duplicates so I need all of them. Craftool - 8200's - I am surprised at how few of these I have. There are about 69 of these and I have less than 30. with very few duplicates. 8300's - I have a lot of these with duplicates. But I still have about 25 that I need 1 or 2 of. 8400's - I have about half of these with very few duplicates. 8500's - 8500 to 8574 - I only have a handful of these with only 2 that I have duplicates of. 8575 to 8599 - I have 1 of each of these so I need duplicates. 8600's - there are 15 of these that I do not have. I have 1 of each of the rest with few duplicates. 8700's - None Issued 8800 - These came out last year and are the 1/2" or 5/8" 2d and 3d stamps. I have 1 complete set of these but I still need 3 more because I am going to donate 2 to the local scout office. So if you would like to donate any of these they will go directly to the Local BSA. This is an update to the leather tools I need for Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. (I'll do another post of my progress on leather tools for our Girl Scout Council at a later date). PLEASE LET OTHER LEATHERWORKERS KNOW ABOUT THIS POST. I am currently looking for donations of the tools listed below. NOTE: First of all, I do realize that it is unlikely that I'm going to get everyone in the forum to clean out all their unused leather tools and send them to me. Leather tools are expensive. What I would like is that all the people that read this, think about picking out a few tools that they don't use anymore and send them to me. Maybe you've upgraded to Barry King or another maker. Maybe you have some 3D stamps you know you will never use again. Even if you are going to sell them, you can afford to take a few out and send them my way. If I could get 100 people to do this it's worth the effort. My posts are already much too long so If you would like to discuss any of this with me, send me a message with your phone number and I would be happy to explain, in great detail, what I am trying to do. This all started with me helping out with a Leatherworking Merit Badge class last May and I noticed how incomplete their tool set was and the horrible condition they were in. But once I started looking at their leather tools and programs, it turned into a rabbit hole. I am trying to get our Local (Las Vegas) BSA Council's leather tools in shape. The leather tools that they had were in such poor condition that I had to throw many of them away. It doesn't look like they have any tools or stamps that are less than 20 years old. I donated over 300 stamps to put together some sets of tools for the Day Camps that they put on. Even with what I donated, they are still very much incomplete. These tool sets are loaned to the different districts in our council when they run a Day Camp which are held between May and October. In addition, these sets are loaned out for merit badge classes. I also inventoried the leather tools at the Boy Scout summer camp and was astonished how little they had. I ended up leaving many of my tools and stamps for them to use last summer just so they would have a good selection of 3d stamps and alphabets to choose from. There is a lot they need, just to do basic projects. They don't even have a hole punch or rivet setter. There is a 3rd program called Scout Reach. It is designed to provide opportunities for at-risk children to get a taste of some scouting activities and hopefully get some of them to join the Cub Scout Pack at their school. I looked at their tools and there is almost nothing left. Some of the stamps were so damaged that I couldn't even identify what the stamp was to begin with. They have not included leathercraft in this program for about 2 years. But they very much want to. So after I get the Day Camps and Summer Camp tool sets together, I will concentrate on Scout Reach. Because of the way non-profits work, items purchased for a particular program must stay with that program. Here is what has changed since the last request I posted.: They built a park next to the Council Office and need 1 additional set for day camps that they will keep there and not loan out. I juggled tools around from different programs (even though I wasn't supposed to) in order to spread out excess tools from 1 to another. I talked to the "Grand Poobaa" at the council office and except for about $1,000 budgeted for the new, Park Day Camp, there is no money for leather tools. This set will remain on premises, and not be loaned out. I received about a dozen packages containing a wide variety of leather tools. Most of it is going to the Summer Camp. I need 23-Swivel Knives, 23-8059's (stylus), 10-A104's, 8-B200's, 4-C431's, 6-P206's, 14-S724's, 18-V407's, 22-V707's and 24-X511's For the Summer Camp, I would like to eventually get at least 1 complete set of all Craftool letter, no-letter and Craftool Pro stamps so the kids can make any design from any of the Tandy books and Craftaids. I would also like to get some Midas/Kelly Tool stamps and any from all other brand of leather stamps. On the off chance I receive donations of some premium stamps (Barry King, Linnell, etc...) I will save them for some intermediate and advanced classes I want to offer starting in 2020 or 2021.. I would also like some homemade tools to show the kids. You know, the old timer ones made from nails and bolts and steel rods and such. I have about 6 and they are pretty basic ones, so I would like to have more to show them. Does anybody happen to know the mm equivalent of Craftools Sizes? The only info I can find is "The larger the number, the wider the bevel." LOL I have a size #2 and a size #3 but the #2 is still a bit large for 3/4 oz. leather. Any help?

Hello friends - I'm tapping into the vast wealth of knowledge here to ask a few questions. I have a 3/4" Craftool alphabet that looks like woodgrain or stacked logs, part number 8138. Does anyone know if Craftool ever made their woodgrain alphabet of the same in 1/2" format? If so, what was that part number? I'd like to see about maybe finding one. Second question - is there a database sowewhere of old craftool part numbers? Not looking for the tooling stamp references, but things like setters, alphabets, etc. Thanks friends! PepeUnidos

So I've never used a beveler or worked with leather in any way. I watched a Tandy tutorial that calls for Craftool B202 L&R bevelers. I looked them up and they appear to have a checkered pattern. I am confused about the L&R... does the left and right refer to the direction of the lines in the impression? or what? I haven't seen any other bevelers which are L&R? Additionally, is there an equivalent that I could buy that would do the same thing, but with just one tool? I'm thinking of just buying a few tools from Barry King, and bypassing Craftool stuff. I haven't bought ANY bevelers, so I was just going to start with one or so and go from there.

Does anyone have any idea what is a fair price, or value of the old Craftool leather stamps. I met an older gentleman at an art show a couple of weeks ago that said he had a bunch of old tools from his younger days. He no longer does any leather work, and asked if I would be interested in buying them. I told him I would drop by and take a look at them. I see these all the time on Ebay for around $12. Is that a fair price? If I take the entire lot, would the value per tool be less?

Rounding the last corner on my way out of the antique store to go home what do I find..... 48 stamps most without the letter designation ex: 104 vs A104 15 swivel knife blades. Mostly angled And 2 swivel knives with blades The guy said that he has more tools from an estate sale that he hasn't had time to clean up yet but I gave him my contact info and he said that he would e-mail me some pics of any of the other leather "looking" tools that he comes across.
