Hi there! I'm new here. I ran into a deal for a few varieties of good quality leather I wanted to use for the bottom and sides of a game board and other projects - the hitch? I'm completely new to leatherwork & using leather. I need some help to do this project right. The side of the board isn't thicker than half an inch with rounded edges, so I was thinking glue could solely handle the job if I wrapped leather around the bottom and sides. I'd like to avoid nails / staples. What brand of glue do I use and how do I apply it (Further information below)? Any other advice is appreciated also! The board is: Solid walnut. Straight grain. The leather is: Mostly very flexible (Few exceptions). Top Grain (Some full grain mixed in) 0.8-1.2mm thick Treated on the front facing side (Not the flesh side.) The board will be manipulated by people's hands regularly, but never bent or flexed. so I'd like it to be durable but feel good as well. The sides will be visible, the bottom will be occasionally seen. The environment this board would be kept in is going to be very humid, hot, and only rarely cool. If you want more information on the leather.. I have a decent variety of types. Most are stain protected (Some more some less.). The finishes vary from simply hand finished, burnished & waxed / cracked, gentle and rough sanded, just waxed, and matte. Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks!

our 5 year old dog very suddenly and quickly got diagnosed with aggressive cancer. I would like to have a man's bracelet made for my husband out of our dog's collar. I would also like for the dogs name and a paw print on the bracelet. Thank you.

I just received my Cobra class 4:) never owned or even used a sewing machine before. its a challenge, but what I would like to know is, how do I make using this easier? I hand stitch everything, so when I received my tax return, I bought the cobra. no telling when an opportunity would allow me another chance, so I jumped. is there any advice on practices or even places that instruct on this matter:) I have tons of crap, and soon that will run out at the rate I'm going. I only ask, because I really don't want to learn poor habits, instead id like advice of some good habits to build on. Thank you:)

I am attempting to clean and hopefully salvage and use this Singer 45K50. The machine is in primarily good shape except it "groans" at a certain point when you hand turn the wheel. I have had this explained to me as "metal galding" and a good bath might make it stop. I am appealing to the knowledge of you old timers, like me, that know these things, this machine was manufactured in the 1920's. I would like the bath this machine in something and would like to hear some product or home concoction recommendations or direction before proceeding. Thanks all, can't wait to read the responses Pounder

Hello guys, I ve posted about the same troubles a good year ago when i encountered that very big problem. At the time, the hides were stored in a bed room and i suspected the sun and/or proximity with latigo..... And at this time people here on the forum told me : - avoid humidity => mold (no humidity, no mold) - avoid the sun because it causes some staining like sunburnt => check! now it's stored in the dark in my garage (no sun or even direct light) - i separated all my types of leather => veg tan in a corner, latigos in another and so on..... and still i find some news stains on my veg tan leather ...... what can be causing this? the stains appears on the parts of leather in "contact" with air while rolled not enough circulation of air, too much? something else? here some pictures on how it is stored and pics of the stains...if it can help find the culprit. the picture with stains on the rolled hide is an old hide which has been stained last year the picture with the hides set down are the new ones : i bought them on january, i used them a few weeks ago and at that time there was no stains.... nothing has changed in between...... i am out of ideas and thus out of means for changing what's happening. I would really appreciate your insight on that subject. Aurelie

As you can see in the picture, right around where the stirrup buckle goes, there is a large mark. i do not know what it is caused by but this is my treasured Crosby that I just bought and it means the world to me because it fits my 10 hand pony so well! I need desperate help because I have to get it fixed up and I have to make this pony feel his best and not buck me off for the 10th time! I am not planning on spending a lot to fix it but I will spend a bit. Right when this pony is trained, he is being shipped off to go to the Devon horse show! Please help! I appreciate it! If you have any product that could help, please mention the name! Thanks! (will post pictures below)
