Frodo Report post Posted July 5, 2022 48 minutes ago, PastorBob said: That's pretty cool, @Frodo. How do you connect them all together? use anything you want for a stem, wire. or stick wrap it with green tape or cloth each petal has a longish stem, that is where you wrap and glue place the first petal on the wire and wrap secure with thread, place another but move over half the width of the petal, add glue where they over lap and at the stem . wrap with thread, move over half the width, glue/wrap continue around. I wrap 5 petals then let the glue set up. then do anther set leave the petals oriented straight up till finished wrapping then bend the petals out and shape the flower. as you wish my roses are about 6 or 7''' wide

I wanted to show you how to get started, This is demonstration only, the leather has been cut and that is all grab the 6 petals roll one up and tie it to a stick place the others as shown, wrapping with string each petal. 6 oz or less. this is using up my scrap
Frodo Report post Posted July 9, 2022 wrap what you just did up place a large petal just about a 1/4'' higher than the bud wrap with string/thread. place another same height over lap by half. this is where you glue the over laps as you go continue on till you run out of 15 petals then trim and fit that pestal over your tie. make you some leaves attach them. this should be enough info to get you there. this one is going to be yellow with a blue over spray hoping for a hybrid look

Brokenolmarine Report post Posted July 18, 2022 Very nice use of scraps, very creative. I have met a couple other other gifted folks like yourself. One member of our fly tying group could see flies in just about anything. We were cleaning up, the dried glue drops we scraped off the table top became ladybug flies, larger drops became bettles. Yes, they caught fish...
