Members Bert03241 Posted February 19, 2023 Members Report Posted February 19, 2023 My first try at inlay, but I think I did it all wrong Quote
Members DwightT Posted February 20, 2023 Members Report Posted February 20, 2023 While I personally know nothing about holsters, I think it looks pretty good. What do you think you did wrong? /dwight Quote
CFM chuck123wapati Posted February 20, 2023 CFM Report Posted February 20, 2023 i think your inlay looks great!!!! i would have lost some of that leather on the outside of your loop and ran the stitch line closer to the loop hole but that is just esthetics no one will see the loops. Nice lookin holster IMO. CFM tsunkasapa Posted February 20, 2023 CFM Report Posted February 20, 2023 Nice job. The only thing I might have changed would be a bit more contrast between the two leathers, just to make your inlay pop. Quote Hoka Hey! Today, tomorrow, next week, what does it matter?
Members Bert03241 Posted February 21, 2023 Author Members Report Posted February 21, 2023 (edited) Chuck I dont really understand what your saying what do you refer to as the loop? did you mean make the inlay bigger? What I think I did wrong is the inlay is on top of the leather with a frame around it , not technically in layed. but I really didn't know how to do it on 8oz leather LOL Edited February 21, 2023 by Bert03241 Quote

Members Gezzer Posted February 21, 2023 Members Report Posted February 21, 2023 Hey Bert , while I don't know about holsters it looks pretty good to me. I think it would be even nicer to use a stitching iron or awl instead of drilling/punching your stitch lines . Quote

Members Bert03241 Posted February 21, 2023 Author Members Report Posted February 21, 2023 OK I see what you mean, move the belt loops out a little bit. Skiving the back side is a good Idea, like you say makes the belt slide easier thanks Quote

It was hard to tell from the photographs, especially when I was looking at it from my phone. Still looks pretty good to me. /dwight Quote
