Just finished this to go with the quiver i made. Thought i would go with Celtic type theme. Why because i know I couldn't carve a real looking elk and make it look right LOL. 

The scales are left natural, Bison brown stain and I antiqued the critter to make the lines pop and to darken it more.

You have done really well on that :specool: I guess the scales may have been a little tricky , like doing basket weave.  Great colours too .

That looks really good, my friend. The carving and stamping look great.  Great call on the antique to make the lines pop.  Well done.

thank you The deer was drawn by my daughter and myself, she designed it and then i tweaked it a bit.

The last time I made my own stamps, I was just a  lil' wee tacker,making shapes in potatoes    and dipping them in paint  , lol 

I think I have seen the ends of large nails shaped and used as stamps.  Well done  :)

many thanks, that makes me think i wonder if a good hard wood like oak could be useful as a stamp

thank you for the compliment, leather work like art has many genre's and its always fun to try something new. you never really know how its going to look until its completely done.
