GrampaJoel Report post Posted August 14, 2023 I saw a posting on the web somewhere, maybe here, Maybe not., about,,,, a wallet called a ‘Rudder’ wallet. I’ve searched the net but can’t find an answer. Can and will someone define for me what a ‘Rudder’ wallet is? thanks Joel

CJJ Report post Posted August 14, 2023 the rudder is my everyday wallet. It's a pattern you can buy from DSLeatherGoods on Etsy. fun and simple to make when you're looking for a quick project to scratch your crafting itch.
fredk Report post Posted August 14, 2023 Why is that called a 'Rudder' wallet? Is it just some silly catch-phrase? Just to make you/me/us look? I used to see these, made in fabric, in the discount store (Dollar store?) and they sold for no more than 50p (say 50c). I use to buy them to keep odd things in in the car, the tool box, in the sheds
Wepster Report post Posted August 15, 2023 The vendor seems to like nautical names. Skiff, Corsair, Krill, Bosun..

So the vender just named it a ‘Rudder’ wallet for his nautical theme. Hummm. I thought it had something to do with its design. Well I looked on the web just like the posters above, and I found the same info they did. However,,,It never crossed my mind that the maker,,, just made up a name for the very common design. Well thanks for the thoughts and input gang. I learn something valuable from this site nearly every day. Joel
Simplejack1985 Report post Posted September 2, 2023 (edited) I call one of my wallets the rudder wallet named after COL. James Rudder. Leader of Rudders Rangers. I named most of my wallets after famous Rangers. Most recent designs I started naming after my buddies that were KIA in the global war on terrorism.
