Members KP1805 Posted August 14, 2023 Members Report Posted August 14, 2023 I am new to using my Cowboy 4500 machine. We have sewn several items, but now the needle keeps hitting the bobbin. The bobbin case appears to be upside down (not in the right position) from when we began sewing with this machine. When the needle is in the highest position, the bobbin case is upside down. I have made sure the needle is installed all the way in. What are some other things I can try so we can get back to sewing? Thank you in advance for any ideas. Quote

Members fibersport Posted August 15, 2023 Members Report Posted August 15, 2023 Does that machine have a safety clutch? When I bought my Pfaff I too thought the timing was way off, until I started ,looking deeper into it and found the safety clutch had tripped. I didn't realize that a simple jam would trip it - glad to know it works. Quote
Members Burkhardt Posted August 15, 2023 Members Report Posted August 15, 2023 Did you just buy it, new or used? Quote

It's not hard to time but so you get the best explained instructions from @Wizcrafts, @CowboyBob Quote
Members TomE Posted August 15, 2023 Members Report Posted August 15, 2023 @Uwe has produced some very informative videos that helped me understand and tame my 441 clone. This is my favorite for timing a TSC-441 type machine. Quote
Members Handstitched Posted August 15, 2023 Members Report Posted August 15, 2023 For the needle to hit the bobbin must make a hell of a frightening sound HS Quote
