Which strap matches the bag better?

The bag is almost done. I'm trying to decide which strap works better for this bag.
The narrow strap is red leather, which matches the tooled front and back panels.
The wider strap is red cloth, which matches the red tweed sides and zipper top.

This is the Lewis chessmen queen-- more detail here for those who want a better look.

Are you sure the cloth strap matches the bag's cloth parts, coulour-wise? Because on my screen it looks very different, horribly so (the bag seems to be a warm, orangy red and the strap a cold, blueish red.) If that is only a problem of the photo, I'd go with the wider strap - more comfortable. 

However, if the colours in reality are as I see them here, use the leather strap, absolutely!

I like the narrower leather strap; more elegant and seems to complement the era to which you are paying homage.  It contrasts the fabric which is bookended by the matching leather face and back.  The fabric strap seems, to my eye, too wide/out of proportion.  My humble two cents...

I think  it depends on what shoes you are wearing, at least that's my understanding. 

Honestly I have no opinion but I do like the bag and your art work!!!!

The wide nylon web strap makes a nice bag look cheap.
