I had previously asked for some help with rolled handles. Here is the tote bag that they went on.

My Daughter had wanted a large tote for travelling, market runs, general use. After putting her off for sometime due to other projects, she reminded me she still wanted same. Here is finished project. It is huge and she has been putting it to good use.

First time doing a drop in lining. Lots of work and a Kwan’s doing the hand stitching on it but it seemed to turn out ok.

If I was gonna be picky I'd say make the handles a little bigger to go over the shoulder or add a shoulder strap cos when it's loaded it's gonna be heavy. But still a great job.

Thanks but handles were made for that purpose, and to her specifications. Pictures are somewhat deceiving as to size. My daughter is just over 5’7” tall shown here with bag, she has been comfortable with length

Fair enough. I'm just trying to be helpful here. For a normal bag I'd agree with you. But my heavy duty shopping tote is around a foot or more wide when full and my handles are useless and I'm thankful for the shoulder strap.

I do appreciate the suggestions and help. Thanks again

Your daughter can fit in that bag! How much leather did it take to make that bag?

Final measurements on it were 15 1/4” height x 22 1/4 “ length x 6”;wide,  support straps are under a yard each, handles are around 18” each, then interior pockets and exterior pocket. So a lot.  I had alot of it as left overs.

Hoping it lasts a lifetime, if not hers at least mine as it took some time to hand-stitch interior and exterior and finish bag.

I like it!  It's a lot bigger than I first thought.  Nice bag.

This is a lovely bag! It will last a lifetime for her because her daddy made it. No better reason to build something.

Amazing!

Can I ask if you made your own pattern?

Really nice work!

Yes, was a compilation of a smaller bag I had made my other daughter a few years ago, and some bags I had seen here and on line.  Took a couple pieces of Bristol board used for erasable markers (stiffer than plain Bristol board) and tape, but now I have it in case insanity hits me again. I usually will make patterns for larger projects after working out proportions/measurements on paper.

Photos is her having packed it to fly home.
