PastorBob Posted May 28 Report Posted May 28 Where I work my day job, we have some cardboard tubes that are about 7" in diameter and 24-26" in length. I brought some home to help organize my leather a bit. I just duct taped 2 together end to end. I drilled an oversized hole in the top of each tube on the bottom layer and secured them with screws to the bottom deck. And you have a dark cloth to cover both ends so ends of the rolls of leather don't get suntanned. (daylight or indoor lighting) Quote

Digit Posted May 30 Report Posted May 30 (edited) I use PVC sewer pipe (11 or 12.5 cm ~ 4 1/3" or 5") with end caps (one end fixed, one end with a screw cap). They come in 3m lengths and I cut them into two pieces of 1.5m (5'), which perfectly fits a half hide. I stow them away near the ceiling of my garden shed; that's the only place where I have some space left This is an old photo; there's six or seven pipes hanging there by now Edited May 30 by Digit typo Quote

I looked at PVC pipe, concrete forms, etc. They were stupid expensive. I have been looking for an alternative for quite some time. Glad I waited...the cardboard tubes were free.
