Do any of you have a favorite apron you use for leatherworking, or have you resorted to making your own?

I've got one from Weaver. I don't usually wear it unless I'm going to be working for several hours. As for dyeing...absolutely gotta have the gloves!

I just have a fabric apron I use for applying dyes, paints, antiques, or stains. I've been itching to make a nice deerskin apron for use in the studio. I can picture it in a few years all smudged up right proper with different colored dyes and stains.

I like using an apron, otherwise I'm always wiping my hands on my pants. Three weeks ago I finished my first Apron. Made it out of denim. I was thinking of making it out of deerskin but I wanted to keep it cheap.

Now I've got all the right sized pockets in the right places.

I had an old denim apron, from woodworking days, split it down the front to the "right" place, for set down work. Didn't want to stay where I wanted it so I added a slightly tapered piece of leather on each inside from an old coat I bought at the goodwill store. Now the legs stay were they are supposed to be.

Probably has saved my $400+ in ruined blue jeans. Wear it all the time except Hot, Hot, days.

Then I just go boating anyway. LOL.

Hence my moniker Kayak, and my best gun 1911.

I wear denim aprons, I have two that are Weber grilling aprons and one that is just plain blue denim. They basically keep the dye mishaps from getting on my shirts and that's what I want them to do.
