Members JamesR Posted Monday at 05:45 PM Members Report Posted Monday at 05:45 PM I have been using ai programs for getting an analysis of my completed projects. I take photos inside and out of my projects then list the specifications. Like saddle stitched, spi used, thread type and size, leather type and weight. Got some interesting results. You might want to try it yourself. Quote
Members BlackDragon Posted Monday at 06:46 PM Members Report Posted Monday at 06:46 PM I do use AI but am very careful of it. Mostly I use AI for searches but sometimes I use it to help me with thought experiments. Many times AI is going to tell what you want to hear so it's good to get human input rather than rely on just AI. Currently I'm rebinding a series of books but don't know anything about them. I asked AI for summaries on the books so I can get a feel for them and I can design the artwork. Quote
CFM chuck123wapati Posted Monday at 07:50 PM CFM Report Posted Monday at 07:50 PM I use a Magic 8 Ball. Quote Worked in a prison for 30 years if I aint shiny every time I comment its no big deal, I just don't wave pompoms. “I won’t be wronged, I won’t be insulted, and I won’t be laid a hand on. I don’t do these things to other people, and I require the same from them.” THE DUKE!
Members JamesR Posted Monday at 09:22 PM Author Members Report Posted Monday at 09:22 PM BlackDragon, Yes I got the same feeling sometimes, "tell you what you want to hear" Sometimes I do get objective info though. Quote

Members Darren8306 Posted Tuesday at 01:46 AM Members Report Posted Tuesday at 01:46 AM I've tried uploading images including mechanical parts, electronic parts, or even wildlife or portraits, and just ask it to tell me all it can about it. Interesting results, but nothing I would think of as particularly useful yet. Maybe I just don't trust enough... My results on critiquing my leatherwork were shallow, and unexpected. I noticed a clearly crooked stamp (as did a member here) but the groks never mentioned it, while it did mention things that might be important, it was a big miss. Quote

If you don't feed it enough information it's like giving a 2 year old a marker and turning your back. Sure, it'll be funny to see what happens but then you'll have a mess to deal with when it's a done. LOL I decided to create an amusement park using AI. I began with "I was thinking of creating an amusement park" and I accidentally hit enter before giving it any guidelines or what theme I wanted the park to follow. It went into a LONG list of all the things I needed to put in the park. By the time it was done it had 25 roller coasters, 3 teacup rides, a hunted house, and much much more. Cedar Point had nothing on this thing LOL Quote

I find when asking for feedback people tend to be "gentle". It would be nice to have a source for feedback that didn't care about feelings. Quote
