Members CrustyOZ Posted July 10, 2020 Members Report Posted July 10, 2020 I emailed the required pix to myself & selected the low resolution option which was fine to then post with no other adjustments needed. Quote

Northmount Posted July 12, 2020 Report Posted July 12, 2020 For iPad/iPhone users, take a look at these links for information on reducing your picture's file size so you can post it. https://osxdaily.com/2014/04/21/resize-photos-from-iphone-mail/ This one requires installation of an app. https://www.imore.com/how-crop-resize-photos-your-iphone-and-ipad Tom Quote
Members Danne Posted January 2, 2021 Members Report Posted January 2, 2021 This website seems to be a good solution also, you can upload photos and choose file size, and you get them downloaded in a zip-file. https://bulkresizephotos.com/ Quote
toxo Posted January 4, 2021 Report Posted January 4, 2021 (edited) Computer monitors are not capable of seeing all the information in a photo so most of it is just wasted and takes up bandwidth. I use an old version of Fireworks. Crop the picture, resize to 600 pixels and reduce resolution to 70% or even less and no one will see any difference. Remember to save it. Unless you intend to print from a picture at sometime, if your computer keeps an original size copy as well as the resized one you might want to delete it because those will use up a lot of memory/space. Contributing Member fredk Posted January 4, 2021 Contributing Member Report Posted January 4, 2021 My methods and hardware 1. I use an old Fujipix S5600 camera, permanently set up for close-up pictures 1a. The camera takes at 5 mp. ISO/ASA is adjusted according to available lighting but its generally at 100 or 200 2. I use an old photo processing program, Paint Shop Pro. I got it free on a give-away disc back in about 1994 3. I put the photos through the PSP and initially save the original photo to my computer using the suffix 01 eg, Dice Cup, 01. This is backed up on a DVD disc 3a then I edit the photo, cropping it, adjusting contrast etc. This is saved as 01a (eg; Dice Cup, 01a) 3b. If I want the photo for this forum I resize the photo to about 360 pixies width and save that as 01LWs (eg; Dice Cup, 01LWs) 4. When I want to put the photo on this form I just use the 'choose files' option, and search out that 01LWs photo. I preview my posting and if the photo is too large or too small I go back to PSP, bring in the 01LWs, resize it and rename it 01LWss or 01LWsl. That way I have multiple copies of the same photo, in case any get corrupted or something 5. hit 'submit reply' when ready and jobs done I've been doing it this way for over 20 years (tho not on LW, but other forums) and I ain't gonna change now no how Quote Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..

Moderator Wizcrafts Posted August 24, 2023 Moderator Report Posted August 24, 2023 I just got a great tip from our sewing machine guru, @Uwe A simple “Samsung photo resize” search reveals these instructions: https://www.samsung.com/sg/support/mobile-devices/how-to-resize-photos-in-the-gallery-app-on-your-galaxy-phone/ To summarize the instructions, open your Gallery. Click on the image you need to resize. The image will open on-screen. Under the image, click on the pencil icon (Edit). On the Edit screen, click on the three dots to open an options menu. From the options, choose Resize. There are several radio button options starting at 20% on my Samsung Galaxy A53. Choose the amount of reduction you want, then click on Done. Now, click on Save on the upper right of the screen. Or, click Revert to unsave the resize. A text screen will popup asking if you really want to save the resized image over the original. If you don't need the large original, click on Save on the bottom right. But, if you want to save the original, follow the instruction in the text box to save the resized image as a copy. I found similar instructions for resizing photos on an iPhone... Open the Photos App, and scroll your screens to find the image you want to adjust image size. Tap the image and find the “Edit” icon on the upper-right corner of the screen. Tap it and select the third crop and rotate image icon on the bottom of the screen. Find the third gray rectangular icon on the top of the screen and tap it. You will see lots of options to resize images. You can customize the image size as you want, make square images, resize image wallpaper size, and other photo sizes. Choose one image size ratio you want, and apply it to your images. After you have resized images, tap “Done” to save your images to your iPhone.
