Members Leerwerker Posted May 2, 2008 Members Report Posted May 2, 2008 Here is a glimpse of my current big project - a big wall hanging for my wife's massage clinic. If you look closely you can see a quarter on the test piece to show the scale. You can see more photos and explanations on my BLOG Quote

Members Leerwerker Posted May 2, 2008 Author Members Report Posted May 2, 2008 The material you are using for the underside, what may it be?Ken Ken, I am using 8-9 ounce leather for the plugs. The test piece I used 12 ounce leather, but that was far too difficult to work with and I would rather use multiple layers where needed. Quote
Members chocolateducttape Posted May 2, 2008 Members Report Posted May 2, 2008 Wow that is going to be fantastic! Great job! Quote
Contributing Member ClayB Posted May 2, 2008 Contributing Member Report Posted May 2, 2008 Hi Johan, That's an interesting pattern to carve on leather. It really looks good so far. I tried using plugs like Al taught for embossing once and really didn't like doing them. Leather dust putty is so much easier to do, but I can see where on this project, the plugs will probably really work well. I'd love to be able to peek over you shoulder and watch you make them. I'll be looking forward to seeing this finished. Clay Here is a glimpse of my current big project - a big wall hanging for my wife's massage clinic.
