Members THE BIG RED VIKING Posted November 25, 2013 Members Report Posted November 25, 2013 PIcked this up at Harbor Freight this weekend, I typically stray away from there but this bench had good reviews on and off their site. Find a 25% off coupon and you can get for around $120+. The only thing I don't care for are the holes on top but I will plug them eventually. Quote
Members WScott Posted November 25, 2013 Members Report Posted November 25, 2013 Looks good, great deal! Quote
Members Fowlingpiece Posted November 26, 2013 Members Report Posted November 26, 2013 I use one as one of the benches in my shop. Quote
Members Ryan Barto Posted November 26, 2013 Members Report Posted November 26, 2013 I use the same bench for my work as well. Had it for almost 2 years now and really like it. I find that the holes aren't that bad, and I tend to stick my awl in one of them so it doesn't roll off the table and onto my foot (it likes to land point down). Quote
Members cgleathercraft Posted November 26, 2013 Members Report Posted November 26, 2013 These must be rather popular! I picked one up about 3 weeks ago and it had made my life much easier. I didn't really have a proper work bench before so it has been a real benefit to me. Took about 2hrs by myself to assemble get it into position and stuff the drawers full. Quote
Members camano ridge Posted November 26, 2013 Members Report Posted November 26, 2013 I have a fairly large shop and have several benches I bought on of these Harbor Freight benches about 2 years a go and use it more then any of the others. Quote
Ambassador pete Posted November 26, 2013 Ambassador Report Posted November 26, 2013 I have one too. Best thing I have in the shop. Regarding the holes, the first thing that I did was to take clear shelf paper(sticky) and cover the entire bench. It protects the wood from dye, stains, etc and covers the holes, and makes a nice smooth, clean surface to work on. Quote
AndyL1 Posted November 26, 2013 Report Posted November 26, 2013 I picked up one of these too. Have yet to put it together though but I'm going to put some locking caster wheels under it so I can roll it around the shop (I like to clean up under my benches on occasion.) Looks nice! Quote
Members wearthefoxhat Posted November 27, 2013 Members Report Posted November 27, 2013 Does it bother you that you can't get your legs under it while sitting on that stool? Quote
Members needles Posted November 27, 2013 Members Report Posted November 27, 2013 I'm jealous..... I'm still having to pack up everything from the dining table at meal times.... :-( Quote

Looks nice! you might think twice about casters if you are going to do any pounding. You won't get a solid hit. Quote
Members THE BIG RED VIKING Posted November 29, 2013 Author Members Report Posted November 29, 2013 Does it bother you that you can't get your legs under it while sitting on that stool? Yes it does! I am buying a different stool and cutting as much of the legs off as I can to lower it down. Quote
Members TXAG Posted November 29, 2013 Members Report Posted November 29, 2013 Yes it does! I am buying a different stool and cutting as much of the legs off as I can to lower it down. You could always put the bench on top of some cinder blocks... Quote
