Members billybopp Posted October 17, 2014 Members Report Posted October 17, 2014 Looks great Chief ... As always. I love the color, but how do you manage to get it so nice and even. I always have a bitch of a time with tan / saddle tan / british tan getting anything approaching an even finish! Bill Quote

I love the color. Thank you! That's really awesome! Thanks, Looks great Chief ... As always. I love the color, but how do you manage to get it so nice and even. I always have a bitch of a time with tan / saddle tan / british tan getting anything approaching an even finish! Bill Thanks, I always wet the leather before applying the antique stain. It seems to help distribute it, someone told me it opens up the leather. I also have one cloth ready that is wet, after applying the stain, letting it set for a very short while, then I wipe off the excess with dry towels, then I do a final wipe with the damp towel (it removes some more of the excess pigment), If the damp towel leaves any residual moisture, I wipe again with clean dry cloths very lightly. Hope that helps, Chief Looks amazing! Thanks, Chief Quote "Life's too short to carry ugly leather"

Members LederRudi Posted October 19, 2014 Members Report Posted October 19, 2014 Beautiful work, Chief! How do you join the lacing around back and front with the lacing along the edge of the gusset? In other words: How do you split the lacing into branches respectively join two branches? Quote "If you work for a living, why do you kill yourself working?" Tuco Ramírez
