Rocksocks Report post Posted November 22, 2014 (edited) I have been a member for a while and looking at everyone else's nice work. I wanted to show off my first saddle. My new hunting saddle. Finished it the first of October and took it to Colorado for an elk hunt. Broke it in right, although I was nervous about it! But I guess that's what it's for. Tramps Leatherworking Report post Posted November 23, 2014 I've never made a saddle for a "real" horse --- just iron Horses (Motorcycles), but that looks like a damn fine job...

Thor Report post Posted January 22, 2015 Excellent job! There isn't a lot I could say from a saddle maker's point of view, but let me make a suggestion from a professional rider's point. It is regarding the breast collar. I appreciate at least one keeper to avoid loose billet ends in my tack. These ones could even be shortened. Also maybe people would be interested to know where you got the parts from. The metal parts really look classy.
hoagz Report post Posted May 14, 2015 Looks good. Approximately how long did this take you to make?
BondoBobCustomSaddles Report post Posted May 15, 2015 Hey Rock, looks like you have spent some time riding before you decided to make your own saddle. I have always felt that to be a good saddle maker you had to first understand what works and what doesn't with a horse. Nice job, keep up the good work, you have a future in saddlemaking.
