Members dhaverstick Posted April 19, 2015 Members Report Posted April 19, 2015 Well, it's taken me a while but I finished my wife's purse last night. It seemed like every time I got started on it again I would get a paying order so it would have to go on the back burner. Fortunately, my wife is very understanding and is just happy to show off her new bag. The body is made from bison and red deer leather. The bling is made from a variety of leather; cow, ostrich, cane toad, stingray and who knows what else. I made the clasp from a piece of turquoise and deer antler. Everything was sewn by hand using artificial sinew. Darren Quote

electrathon Posted April 19, 2015 Report Posted April 19, 2015 Stunning work. Looks awesome. I am curious about the sewing pattern you used. I can see the X pattern in the stitching, but am curious about the band around the inlays. Is there some sort of piping you sewed around? I can see a color variation from the leather on each side but can not see what is there. Quote
