Contributing Member Ferg Posted July 21, 2016 Contributing Member Report Posted July 21, 2016 Bought this Skiver from Bob Kovar. Thought I would use it a lot but find I have very little use for it. Probably used 3 months, kept lubricated and sharpened, excellent condition, includes two extra rollers, top and bottom feed, Digital Servo Motor. Machine mounted on "K" style stand with foot pedal control. Has a disposal chute for scrap ejection. Asking $1350.00 Would rather not ship, can be picked up in Southwestern Ohio. Machine weighs approximately 90# plus table and servo. Any questions: Contact Ferg
RockyAussie Posted July 22, 2016 Report Posted July 22, 2016 I cant believe I see no questions in regards to buy. If it were over here I would already be on your doorstep. Must be the GFC or something. Wild Harry - Australian made leather goodsYouTube Channel Instagram

Contributing Member Ferg Posted March 31, 2017 Author Contributing Member Report Posted March 31, 2017 Yes it is.
Members SolarLeatherMachines Posted April 6, 2017 Members Report Posted April 6, 2017 That's a smoking hot deal for a machine that can power skive veg-tan. Alexander
Mark842 Posted April 6, 2017 Report Posted April 6, 2017 Hello, Can't find any info on the duel feed Cowboy version of this skiver. Is it it basically the same as the Cobra top and bottom feed as far as its thickness, and thin-ness capabilities? I'm shopping for a skiver, just don't know if this is too much skiver for me...Don't know if skivers are like sewing machines where if it does 12-14 ounce it won't work good for lighter weights. I can see myself doing both weights but 90% of what I need it for is 4-6 ounce.

It's perfect for thinner leathers because the top-feed helps to pull it through ,unlike the bottom-feed that will ruin thin leather. Thank you. So if I understand correctly this can do everything a bottom feed can but better and with the capability of going thicker?
Contributing Member Ferg Posted April 7, 2017 Author Contributing Member Report Posted April 7, 2017 I have used the skiver for 1.5mm to 2mm plus much heavier veg tan. The thicker leathers may need to be run through more than once. The Cowboy and several others are identical except for the name on them. LOL No one should tell you that learning to use a power skiver is easy. Not for the faint of heart. Your eventual results will make a believer out of you. If you do not have a good supply of scrap leather to practice with, go to a Tandy store and buy a bag of same. Chrome tanned as well as veg tan. Ferg
Mark842 Posted April 7, 2017 Report Posted April 7, 2017 Is shipping this still off the table? I'd have to get past the looming tax day anyway but I'd interested if you can ship it for a reasonable price.
