I haven't made a bag before but I'm going to soon and that is the thing holding me up. You did a fantastic job on this bag. With this particular bag the lining is essentially a "bag within a bag". Nothing too complex. Its just a matter of clean execution. lots of checking and re-checking my measurements. Quote https://www.instagram.com/c_skelhorn
Members Stetson912 Posted March 20, 2017 Members Report Posted March 20, 2017 Ah ok, so make a bag the same dimensions as the main bag? Then drop it in and stitch around the top? Yu our have trim pieces around the top of the liner which is a good idea I think. But that's the basic principles right? Quote

The other is a turned lining. This video gives a great explanation how to do both. Because she's using fabric she turns the top edges of both bag and lining to ensure no raw edges are visible, with leather you don't have to do that (as seen in this gorgeous bag we're all so taken with). If you do turn them a turned lining is a lot easier as it's less thickness to sew through, a drop in requires a heavier machine. I did my tote (look at my thread here in show off) with a turned lining. Quote
