Mattsbagger Report post Posted April 9, 2017 Are the snaps from Buckle Guy any better than Tandy? I got some tri glides that were good quality. I hand set snaps and the Tandy ones are not working out for me. Had a couple fail on my own stuff and don't want to send any out. Or where do people recommend getting quality snaps. I use 20 and 24 mostly.

NVLeatherWorx Report post Posted April 9, 2017 They are solid brass and I have had no issues with them so far. Have had issues with the setting process (I have always hand set) with the Tandy snaps (20 and 24) not always flanging properly.

Mattsbagger Report post Posted April 10, 2017 Now there is something I didn't think about. Do I need to buy new setter and anvil or will Tandy one work?
alpha2 Report post Posted April 16, 2017 I know that with Tandy snaps and Tandy sets, I have to open up the female side of the snap with a drift pin to get them to work. I'd probably pony up for the good tools. I have three Tandy stores nearby, so it's convenient for me, but I'm starting to think about ordering stuff online. I hate ordering online. Had a tandy manager get better part of wet-cat mad a few years ago... went in, complained about that. Guy says it'll work -- yer jus doin' it wrong. So ,,, course I said "show me". In fact, IF you kin show me... I'll take 1000 of each snap AND the setters. He and his helper buddy went through about 30 of em to get maybe 5 that worked without fighten' em. Jus kepp gittin madder alla time. The SHOW was worth the price ...

I've had other noname setters. but the ones come from Buckleguy, you know, touching and filling as solid and very good quality. You won't regret a minute of using those.
