Members Canberra Posted August 18, 2017 Members Report Posted August 18, 2017 Hi, I bought some beautiful 10/11 oz from Macphersons.. carves and cuts so easily, quality, I think is better than weaver, as I have purchased that too. Much better than anything Tandy sells. I bought their top line, does not carve at all well, very hard to cut through, spoiled by the Macpherson leather, quite a bit more money, well worth it. Quote

Garry, sorry I missed this reply... Thanks for the list of suppliers. Aa crack look like they have a good selection. Cheers. Quote
Members gary Posted August 18, 2017 Members Report Posted August 18, 2017 I only started using aa crack a little while ago and they do have a good selection and their service is slick. The one drawback is their post and packing charge but that may have been a one-off. Quote

Members Bennyleather Posted April 17, 2019 Members Report Posted April 17, 2019 Have a look at District Leather Supply, they have quite the selection, and it changes fairly often. They have some tools and hardware as well, but the leather is generally in small sizes (4x18, 8x18 inches and some 12x24 inches), with a few whole hides. I am only a hobbyist so I only need the small pieces and have yet to try straight veg tan other than Conceria Walpier Buttero at 3.5-4 oz., which is a dream to burnish and cut. Quote

It's not as consistent or the website needs cleaned up but most pieces listed aren't anything easy to come by in the U.S. so still worth a look in my book. Ordering from them is easy and quick. As a hobbyist I've also used Landwerlen Leather (Indianapolis) and they also had something that fit the bill. Agreed on Rocky Mountain. Quote
