Members Petewon Posted September 11, 2017 Members Report Posted September 11, 2017 Hi Folks, I've managed to fit a few hours in on the leatherwork bench between my house renovations and work. I've made this purple card holder and watch strap. It was quite a tricky build but turned out quite well I think. I'ts quite a contrast going from knocking walls down to something as delicate as this Quote

RockyAussie Posted September 11, 2017 Report Posted September 11, 2017 Very nice work. The edging looks good and the stitching and even the covering of the snap. Quote Wild Harry - Australian made leather goodsYouTube Channel Instagram

It is just lined with the pink leather used on the gusset. I have done the same design in brown which has a seperating pocket inside, Ive just not got around to taking any pictures of that one yet. I skive down a piece of leather as thin as possible, glue it to the face of the popper then fold the excess leather around the back of the popper. It's quite tricky but the end result is good. Quote
Members battlemunky Posted September 11, 2017 Members Report Posted September 11, 2017 That is clean and neat work. Me likey! Quote
Members motocouture Posted September 12, 2017 Members Report Posted September 12, 2017 Beautiful work, and probably a welcome break from renovating (always seems to take three times as long as it should, and the dust!!) Quote
Members Webicons Posted September 12, 2017 Members Report Posted September 12, 2017 That is just too clean. Really nice work. Is the recessed stitching on the card holder a result of edge skiving or did you use an insert. It's a very neat effect! Quote

Expand Thank you. Yeah, I always try to think the job through in my head and still manage to drastically underestimate how long it's going to take. The culprit this time is a shower cubicle with wonky walls On 9/12/2017 at 4:09 PM, Webicons said: That is just too clean. Really nice work. Sometimes if I'm working with thicker leather I will just skive the edge as it gives the same effect. Quote
