Members Treed Posted October 9, 2017 Members Report Posted October 9, 2017 Here is one I have had on my mind and finally got the nerve to try it.....Do you show it as art or using piece? Quote
mikesc Posted October 9, 2017 Report Posted October 9, 2017 (edited) Art..:) ( certain codicils apply nonetheless..see "sig" below ) Edited October 9, 2017 by mikesc Quote
bikermutt07 Posted October 9, 2017 Report Posted October 9, 2017 It's wearable art. I would post it on my site as an example. Then, I would wear it everywhere I could. When they ask, "where'd you get that", I would just tell 'em, "I made it". And watch the orders pour in. Looks great. Quote
Members dikman Posted October 9, 2017 Members Report Posted October 9, 2017 Elements of both? It is quite classy, but is asking to be used. What I like about it is that the ornamentation isn't overdone, some just fill every spare bit of space with something which tends to make it a bit overwhelming (and gaudy!). Looks like a lot of work went into it. Quote
Members YinTx Posted October 10, 2017 Members Report Posted October 10, 2017 That is absolutely awesome. Art without a doubt, functional to a T. The wait was well worth it. I look forward to the day when I can do that. YinTx Quote
Members Dwight Posted October 10, 2017 Members Report Posted October 10, 2017 As they used to say many years ago, . . . that is top drawer stuff, . . . Awesome craftsmanship, . . . May God bless, Dwight Quote
Members Treed Posted October 10, 2017 Author Members Report Posted October 10, 2017 thanks for the comments.... it took awhile to do and was mostly off the cuff.... Had an idea but as I would get one part done the ideas changed. I am trying to come up with one now for the 1911 and some original pieces form the 1800's for the cowboy, cavalry, and civil war Thanks Bobby Quote
Members Bodean Posted October 10, 2017 Members Report Posted October 10, 2017 Beautiful work. How was the outside border accomplished? Quote
Members OLDNSLOW Posted October 10, 2017 Members Report Posted October 10, 2017 That is truly inspirational, the question I have is, was the all that work done with a backgrounder stamp I think it is called? It certainly provides food for thought. Quote

Members WoodysWorkshop Posted October 11, 2017 Members Report Posted October 11, 2017 I like it! I would use it myself. I would buy a pair of Uberti Matched Pair Cody's, or Engraved Cody's for the holsters. Or if I were even richer, I'd buy a pair of Magnum Research's 45-70's. Did I tell everyone I'm a huge fan of the 45-70? Quote
Members Mattsbagger Posted October 11, 2017 Members Report Posted October 11, 2017 an hour glass shaped stamp, can,t remember the name. it's called a meander I do believe. Quote
Members Josh Ashman Posted October 11, 2017 Members Report Posted October 11, 2017 Great job Bobby! Your tooling on the feathers is amazing! Semper Fi! Josh Quote
Members GrampaJoel Posted October 16, 2017 Members Report Posted October 16, 2017 Incredible rise on the feathers! VERY IMPRESSIVE !! Joel Quote
Jaymack Posted October 16, 2017 Report Posted October 16, 2017 Awesome! Lifting the edges of the feather is a great idea. Quote
Members Bigfoote Posted October 16, 2017 Members Report Posted October 16, 2017 Wow that is awesome! I've never seen a serpentine stamp used like that, very creative! It's art but a piece I would use and be proud to wear! Quote
BlakesBlades Posted October 21, 2017 Report Posted October 21, 2017 That is fantastic! I say art simply because the lifted feathers would seem to be a bit fragile to me. Quote
