AlexMayer Report post Posted October 8, 2018 It's been a while since my last post was busy with appartment improvement. So now here is a little tray from dark blue deer leather. At the bottom it has 3 layers - deer + cow (for durability) + deer.

AlexMayer Report post Posted October 10, 2018 (edited) I've mentioned that the world is almost equally devided on those who love saffiano and on those who hate it . very few keep neutral position or indifference... pros: it is quite rigid (though it depends) and scratch resistant, maintains the "likenew" look for a long time. cons: "plastic looking" or nonnatural looking, does not have pattina (for those who cares). Another set (long wallet + notebook cover + key ring) from saffiano. Edited October 10, 2018 by AlexMayer

AlexMayer Report post Posted October 24, 2019 Hello Folks. Decided to make extra emphasis on watch straps. After 3 moths of getting thoughts together, couple of month watching tutorials, many attempts and about 30 finished straps sent to trash I got something descent (at least my wife thinks so ) So, it is 24/20 mm watch strap, outside is brown buttero, inside is brown goat skin. 3,38mm punch. toxo Report post Posted October 24, 2019 Excellent work all round Alex. You have a good eye for detail and design. One thing that puzzles me with the roll top backpack is the length of the strap. I always thought the roll top design was for extra capacity when needed yet the strap isn't long enough for the top to be unrolled and still fastened. Ive noticed this on a few roll top designs. I think, on the original designs they had tie strings for that very purpose.

Ive noticed this on a few roll top designs. Oh, i see. I'll try to share my thoughts on this. Firstly, this one backpack it not supposed to be extra fully loaded. Although I planned to make only one hole in strap as 99.9% of time my own backpack (the first prototype, not the one on the picture) is locked on one and only hole, finally I made a plenty of holes in the strap just because it looks better to me )), So rolled top is more a fashion detail here. Secondly buckle itself is durable and reliable but not the easiest way to open/close the bag during everyday use. In may case the longer strap the bigger pain is to open and close it. Longer belt will require different locking solutions (fastex closure for example). I already now what will I change in next updates of this backpack, but strap's length is not in the list, ofcourse until it is requested by customer. AlexMayer Report post Posted October 30, 2019 Inspired by works of Mark.com created my version of a keychain. It occured to be quite tricky template where 1 piece of leather folds in 4-layered leather keychain.
