Rockoboy Posted March 25, 2018 Report Posted March 25, 2018 Here is my new sewing machine (1 month old) with the removable flat bed I made. The bolts for the feet allow me to adjust the height very accurately, and the rubber feet help keep it from sliding around as it is a loose fit to the machine. bikermutt07 Posted March 25, 2018 Report Posted March 25, 2018 Nice design. Quote I'm not paying 80 bucks for a belt!!! It's a strip of leather. How hard could it be? 4 years and 3 grand later.... I have a belt I can finally live with. Stitching is like gravy, it's only great if you make it every day. From Texas but in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Members Webicons Posted March 25, 2018 Members Report Posted March 25, 2018 I’ve always wondered why I don’t see this around more often. Very practical design. How does it perform? What would you do to improve on v2.0? Quote
Contributing Member Ferg Posted March 25, 2018 Contributing Member Report Posted March 25, 2018 Buy one of Uwe's Ferg Quote
Members AdamPCain Posted March 25, 2018 Members Report Posted March 25, 2018 Very nice I was going to get a cylinder machine but ended up getting a flat bed. Still going to get a cylinder someday. Turning into an expensive hobby. Quote

Good job, mate. As long as it works that's all that matters. Quote Machines wot I have - Singer 51W59; Singer 331K4; Seiko STH-8BLD; Pfaff 335; CB4500. Rockoboy Posted March 30, 2018 Author Report Posted March 30, 2018 Thanx guys. It does work just fine. As for v.2.0 ... I have installed T-nuts for binder attachments (which do not show up very well in the pic), so there is nothing I can think of right now, that I would do differently. Maybe I will round over all the external edges, that's about all. Members Daniel G Posted April 1, 2018 Members Report Posted April 1, 2018 (edited) Love it! I think I'm going to try something like this. I've been looking for a flatbed solution for my Singer 17 class machine. Edited April 1, 2018 by Daniel G Quote
Rockoboy Posted April 2, 2018 Author Report Posted April 2, 2018 I looked around to see what other people were using, and/or possibly buy something already assembled. Unfortunately I was not able to find much (Obviously I was looking in all the wrong places), so that's why I made my own design. 16 hours ago, Daniel G said: I've been looking for a flatbed solution for my Singer 17 class machine. Hi Daniel, Is the suggested pattern for your table going to be a similar size as your pic above? Is something that small going to be helpful or hindrance?
