Members YinTx Posted April 2, 2018 Members Report Posted April 2, 2018 Started this last October when I tooled the front. Tooled the back and spine in November if I remember correctly. Finally got everything together and stitched it up over the last week. Lots of room for improvement, but overall I think it came out ok. I did a small piece of basket-weave on the weekend ... all I can say after seeing your excellent work compared to my 'mess' is "I hope your OCD is under control". bermudahwin Posted April 2, 2018 Report Posted April 2, 2018 That looks well cool. Harry Quote No longer following it.
Members KingsCountyLeather Posted April 2, 2018 Members Report Posted April 2, 2018 All the tooling looks great but I especially love the front! And also the way you joined the back and front together, gives it a heavier look to it. Great job! I too would like to see the inside? Quote
Contributing Member Bob Blea Posted April 2, 2018 Contributing Member Report Posted April 2, 2018 I think it looks great. You got really good depth in your tooling and your basket weave is really spot on. Quote There are always possibilities.... Members Double Daddy Posted April 2, 2018 Members Report Posted April 2, 2018 Wow! That is down-right distracting to church worship...you could set folks to covetin' once they see that! Very fine craftsmanship, indeed...I especially like the fade out from the basketweave to the oak leaf cluster and the woodgrain details on the spine cross. Awe inspiring... Quote Have a great day! Members Furthark Posted April 2, 2018 Members Report Posted April 2, 2018 Beautiful! I like some of the others I'm intrigued with the construction and would love some more pictures of the inside. Quote

Thanks much for the compliments! I can probably say in all honesty that OCD is not under control. Basket weave can drive you bonkers. And why do people like the itsy bitsy tinsey winsey weave??? Basket weave is a regular practice thing. I get cross eyed at times. On 4/2/2018 at 10:11 AM, Double Daddy said: Wow! We'll see if that happens! Thanks for the compliment. 10 hours ago, ComputerDoctor said: Praise GOD! What a testimony in and of itself! Very beautiful! Man, what a selection of tools you have! I'm jealous! Sam Sam, thanks much. I hope the future owner feels the same. The tools I picked up all at once when i started this leather journey, and didn't think I'd ever use them since I didn't have a clue about them. And truth be told, I really mostly use the tools in the small holder, so maybe 20 or less. I could probably get by with 10 or less if I really wanted to. The rest collect dust, unless I want to do something totally different like barbed wire. On 4/2/2018 at 5:41 PM, Furthark said: Beautiful! That inside again... well, it's a bit rough, with some wonky backsides of stitches since its been a while since I stitched stuff. But... since I can't appease with the shiny edge work, here are some obligatory shots. Forgive and ignore the crooked stitches...
